Topic: Green Nissa Deck Opinions

I am working on creating a Green Aggro deck around Nissa, Worldwaker, with a little black shuffled in. The point of the deck is to get a lot of land and lots of Nasties on the field, cards such as Aspect of Hydra to play off the land, and since the lands are meant to be plentiful with the addition of creatures that can turn my library and themselves into a mana source, a couple big nasty creatures for a strong attack, such as Nessian Wilds Ravager and Terra Stomper. Using Nissa's abilities to turn those lands into trample creatures to strengthen my attacking fources quickly. There is also an aspect of the deck that allows me to cycle cards in and out of the graveyard to build up as well, Pharika's Mender and March of the Returned handle that, with Graverobber Spider and Nemesis of Mortals playing off the graveyard. And Evolving Wilds and Diabolic Tutor to give me the ability to pull from my deck any cards I may need at any moment to build my battlefield quickly and efficiently.

I haven't gotten the chance to play test it yet, as I am still missing a few cards for the next few days at least, but it feels like a solid concept so far. I want to probably swap out a few of the swamps for dual forest swamp lands as well to make the deck play a bit more solidly...

Take a look and let's hear some opinions on how I can improve this deck please... big_smile

Re: Green Nissa Deck Opinions

Well there is a rather large thing that may help when building a deck around a card, and that is using more copies of Nissa, Worldwaker so as to see her more often ( I would suggest a playset of her). The land base is the next thing that caught my attention, and it seems rather heavy for the amount of ramp you have, and I feel that Mana Confluence, Llanowar Wastes, Golgari Guildgate, and/or Overgrown Tomb could help to make getting both colors much easily compared to using the Evolving Wilds to help mana fix. And a creature that could help, and actually helps me quite a bit, is Sylvan Caryatid; Not  only does it give you either color for two mana, but it is pretty tough against early-game creatures, and is almost untouchable by opponents. Now if you are going the graveyard route, I would suggest using Satyr Wayfinder to put cards in your graveyard, and gets the lands you may need(sometimes), and paired with Roaring Primadox you will get to use it quite a bit. More cards that would go along with this path would be Grisley Salvage and Commune with the Gods, and they will get you something you want, then other things in your graveyard to work with, and you could even thow in Deathrite Shaman for even more utility. Alot of these cards I have given here will work together well, but they are better with the graveyard base, and may not work as well for an agro build, but if you are wanting more of an agro build I would say you should look into Polukranos, World Eater, since he is one of the more value-packed green creatures that is a lot of bang for your buck just being a 5/5 for 4, not to mention he has a very powerful ability.

All in all with the right cards you may be able to make a grave-aggro work out, but the closest thing I have seen with that, being a deck I run, it really isn't too aggro all of the times, but when it shines it can be quite aggro. With the current set-up I feel alot of the ideas may conflict with each other. But that is just from sheer observation, it could run much better than I see it.
