Haha! Well, Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, all the Moxes add up smile. I own about 100$ worth of cards from that list big_smile.

Yeah, otherwise we'd practically look like this: http://static2.businessinsider.com/imag … pile-1.png

Many of these features are exactly what we've been looking for on this site for ages, some of which, I believe, that I have requested myself.
Deckbox has been great to me. But, now that I know many of the features that have been promised to being worked on, and possibly any future requests that I make, are being put behind a pay wall, I'm not sure how long that will continue.

I wish you could see this as an opportunity, rather than a good bye. Sebi and Deckbox have been so open to its users for so long, so many things that the power users have suggested have been taken into consideration and some implemented or put on the list for later. This is definitely not something you can receive from many services out there. I think instead of having this first reaction of running away we should all see that this is a great moment for us and we can now start building a great tool together. Because if Sebi can support his development efforts and if you, all the users, continue making suggestions, this can become a tool that is modelled exactly by your needs.

psrex, thank you for your kind words and for you supports, it's definitely appreciated :-)

Legal cease and desist letters are like that (assuming that was the mechanism used). They don't give you time for an orderly transition.

I suggest everyone to email Chedy directly tell him how disgusted you feel, and your opinions, chedy@tcgplayer.com

I definitely appreciate all the support we are getting from those of you who are choosing to stand by us in these times, but I have to strongly ask you NOT to email Chedy. We don't want the situation to get out of control and we don't want to start a revolution. I may be a hippie at heart, but I just want us all to get along smile. Chedy has been helpful throughout our collaboration and we ended because of a conflict of interests, I would not want us to start bullying him or his business as they are just trying to protect it and handle it all the best they can.

While I haven't done any development on Deckbox in the past year, I have followed closely its evolution as I have to stand Sebi's moods each day as he curses at the code smile and I have advised him during the development.

Reading everything posted here just reminds me of the Diablo 3 forum posts back when they launched (eg. "They broke Diablo", "this sucks", etc.) but I can't say I'm very surprised. As a former MtG player myself, I admit the amazon prices are not close to an ideal solution.

To address some of the questions raised here, as it seems that some of you don't see the big picture.

- Deckbox is not a big company (3 people)
- the ads we had didn't support the tiny company
- donations wouldn't have been enough to support it either
- we have taken into consideration adding premium-like features, but that would have been conflicting with Wizards of the Coast and that's not a company we want to be arguing with
- we have considered many other monetisation possibilities
- the marketplace was chosen as a solution for monetisation because it makes sense and fits in the whole logic of Deckbox
- yes, we expected TcgPlayer to not be happy, but we didn't expected them to be unhappy so soon :-)

I am not trying to get your sympathy or pity, I am simply explaining why proper market research wasn't done, why we chose to add the martketplace and why we added the Amazon prices. I understand this ruins some people's trades at the moment and we are in a less than comfortable place right now, but as mentioned before, it is not a permanent solution.

So please, bear with us, we understand and we are working on it smile

Hi,

Unfortunately we don't have at the moment any mass-invite feature for the communities admins. And yes, the persons in question will receive an email and a confirmation dialog shows up for them where they can accept or decline the said invitation.

Hi,

Currently we are importing our cards from the official Gatherer database. We know there are some tokens and other cards that are missing from there so they are missing from our database as well. We have had other users reporting this and we are considering adding another source for our cards in the future. Thanks for reporting this smile

Hi,

That's an interesting and valid point, we will fix it in the next release. Thank you for reporting this

Hi, if this is indeed true, we will ban the user for being a spammer. At the moment I can't see any comments on any of your decks, that must be because you deleted all of them. Next time he does it, please don't delete it so we have proof and we will ban them. Thanks for reporting this smile

Getting notifications about unread trade messages is on the list of things to do, thanks for bringing it up :-)

The system shows you new Deckbox users in your area. I think you're just seeing now the new list of people after you changed your area :-)

Hi, lorddax

At the moment we don't intend to add any more games to deckbox as this requires man hours that we currently planned to invest in the future development of the current games. However, if at some point we manage to finish the long list of things that we have to do, we will take into consideration expanding our horizons into other games smile

Sebi is definitely working on an improved trading opportunities interface that will allow much easier filtering in the direction that you suggested smile

Are they planning to use Magiccards.info instead of TCGPlayer then?

That wouldn't really change anything since Magiccards.info also pulls their prices from TcgPlayer, so they are exactly the same prices smile

Hi Ankka,

Thanks for your feedback. I would like to address some of the issues you have covered here.

- Sebi will have a look at the deck count, that does seem like a bug
- we can definitely add an Undo button, it's the very big and messy part of it actually doing what you expect it to do that's complex. We haven't considered versioning to be a priority for deckbox so we haven't dedicated time to it. So for the time being, this is not something that will be added to the immediate TODO list smile
- Exporting to CSV and other formats for decks and inventory is coming in the next release so please hang in there while we work on it smile
- Sorting has also been addressed in other posts from people and we know we have things to do in that area

Ah, now I see. As you might know, we are working on a new trading opportunities page that will offer many filtering options. Users' activity and last login date will also be among these filters. smile

Thanks for the all the great words smile
We currently have a *very* long list of MtG features and requests that need to be added to Deckbox. Until this long list is finished we can't even begin thinking about adding another game as we just don't have enough man power to do that smile

We always assumed that the 'Last seen online' section on the user's profile is enough of an indicator for the user's recent activity. Isn't it?

There is currently no way to disable event updates from your community, but your event organiser should take care not to send them (there is a checkbox when creating/updating events). But you do have a good point, there should be a setting for that, we'll take care of it :-)
