Gideon has come to Zendikar! The story (pretty nicely written BTW, I really enjoyed it) is here: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/a grss#68198.
Interesting planeswalker but... Assassinate on a white dude... what's up with that?

As Laura already said, you have to click on the little red arrow, to get a card menu. From there, you can select specific details.
The card listing will then look something like this: http://deckbox.org/sets/703?s=i&o=d&c=icte. The edition symbols at the right of the card name are the actual editions the card is from. The edition symbols in the Rarity / Edition column to the right are actually just the last printed edition for each card.
The lovely artwork of the lady with a bloody vial has a name!
No constructed applications for this one I think, but it looks great, and it might see some EDH play
Our community in Cluj-Napoca has a Wordpress blog that lists events, winners and other news, and the columnists have had a hard time to type all those card links so that tooltips work.
So now we have a plugin for Wordpress, that creates a button in the post edit page. Selecting a card name and pressing the button will turn the text into a deckbox link, with a tooltip! Just like here, on our forum.
So if any of you has a wordpress based blog about magic, and want to have nifty card tooltips like the ones on our community's blog, check out the plugin on the bottom of the help page here: http://deckbox.org/help/tooltips.
And look who you can kill by Sarkhan's -2 in times of dire need :
Check out the killer flavor on Sarkhan!
I'm not sure what to say about him yet, but he's definitely very very interesting, and it looks like it begs me to build stuff around him. His tokens eat Elspeth's for breakfast
And he's going to be a bit controversial until someone proves he's good, so cheap for trading! Yay! And if he's proven to be not so good, he's lovely for casual anyay... So however he turns out, I like him!
Update: added 'Promo' field to card details, for those nice shiny DCI foils
Also, Garruk vs Liliana is now imported. I would have added Phyrexia vs the Coalition too, but Wizards did not add it to gatherer yet
All right, a bit later than I had initially promised , but now you can add a full set at once to your Inventory. After clicking on 'Add Cards', you will find the link in the blue notice text.
Good news again!
There's a publisher, and the game goes on, with great hope for organized play!
Anyway, I am quite pleased -lore wise- with the last eldrazi king, as it turns out that it was Emeria
... and he probably was imprisoned in the emeria sky ruin.. nice
What do you have to say now, emeria angel and iona, shield of emeria ?
Please expand on this, lore-master. Please tell us lore-noobs some stories!
Pretty lame comic . Jace and Chandra sitting in a tree, key ay es es ay en gee.
Wow, I hadn't seen those!
I'm actually pretty psyched about the new themes, and curious on how the game's going to be changed. Details on all the mecahnics are in this article.
As you say, I'm not much of a fan of playing gigantic, very expensive creatures, and the mentioned defender theme seems boring (although I understand that they need to slow down the game for those Eldrazi to actually be considered...).
But level-up... that looks nice, and seems to be pretty powerful at first sight.
Great, thanks!
Add by set feature coming tomorrow
Can anyone who owns The Deathmaster's Dance please fill in the Rarity information in the spoiler document?
It is the 3rd column, and it should contain for each card the number of times it is present in that set.
P.S. I need it for this feature: http://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=65
The much anticipated feature is finally here - people can now mark Magic cards as being foil / textless, or point out which language or edition they are from.
To do so, check out the little menu that each card has (it had a grey icon, now I've made it reddish, so that people see that it is there), and choose Edit Card Details.
Give it a whirl, and please write back with feedback. The whole thing might be just a tad cryptic, and unintuitive. If so, please tell me. Also, any suggestions on how to make it better / more intuitive will be much appreciated, as always.
Blizzard does not dissapoint!
According to yesterday's announcement, the game will go on, and spring and summer expansions will happen.
The last few weeks the game was looking like it's in a really bad shape, with all the chaos ensuing from UDE's shenanigans. But it looks like the weather's clearing up. The weekend should bring us more long-awaited details.
This was originally thought out and requested by TheShaman, quite a while back. I've postponed implementing it quite a few times because other stuff got in the way, and because I was not sure how to actually do it.
The idea is that many serious collectors have organized their cards in the real world into sub-collections, be it split on blocks, formats, or whatever other criteria, and it only makes sense that one should be able to do this with their inventory.
Currently I'm thinking of implementing it like this:
you will have a drop down control in your inventory, similar to labels in gmail, and a way to create these labels easily
selecting one or more of these labels will filter the listing - meaning only those cards labeled with it will be shown
in the card actions control, there will be a submenu that allows you to apply a certain label to the selected cards
when adding cards to your inventory, the labels that are selected at that point will be automatically applied to them
This could also be applied for other things as well. For example, there have been requests for some ability to specify priorities for cards in one's wishlist. One idea would be to extend these labels for wishlists as well, and let users label the cards however they see fit.
So... what does everybody think about this?
Big news day for Magic today
Starting off light, first item is the official announcement of the new set coming in october - Scars of Mirrodin. The name, as well as the expansion symbol strongly point to an artifact-heavy block. I was not arround in the time of Mirrodin, buy maybe some of you guys can tell us newbies what we can expect
Secondly, a highly debated topic that everyone is up in arms about (even people from outside Legacy and Vintage) - the revised reprint policy. I'm not personally going to comment on that, but I will say that I do not understand Wizards' reasons for doing so. The issue is intensely debated on the official forums, on mtgsalvation, mtgthesource legacy forums, and just about everywhere else there is magic.
Thirdly, I will end on an optimistic, happy and speculative note. The second part of the Awakenings comic has been published, and you can read it here (first one was out last thursday, featuring Jace and Anowon). I will not spoil your pleasure, so go on and read it, but I will invite the lore-savvy people to venture a few guesses about what this all means for the future of the lore, and for the upcoming Rise of the Eldrazi.
Cheers!
Later Edit: removed incorrect information about block being named Corrosion (thanks Trickster)
This is a great idea! Sounds perfectly logical.
Will do in a few days.
Just writing here as well to remind everyone that you can use the [ whi ] tag (there's also a warhammer icon buton on the edit post page) to surround card names to get nice tooltips, like this: Rat Ogres, Clan Moulder's Elite
Plus, if you use other forums (like bountyhunteruk mentioned in his post here), you can bug the administrator to contact me, and I can set up the tooltips to work there as well. (Like the guys from mtgthesource are doing for Magic the Gathering on their forums)
P.S. More information about site / forum integration is on this help page.
It may be useful if there was a way in which the deckbuilder could specify specifically which metagame environment the deck was built for (For example in Warhammer Invasion is the deck was including Deathmasters Dance cards, or was just Core + Path of the Zealot etc). This ability to catagorise would also help people to sort through the decks more easily as you could instantly jump to the decks which where most relevant to the current meta.
You mean in the deck list page ? MtG has such a filter for formats (Standard, Extended, Legacy). Not sure how that would look for filtering Warhammer decks. Would you want to search for all the decks that use cards from a specific edition?
Great work, thanks!
They're perfect! Thanks a lot!
Only 2 sets to go (I've updated the list in the first post).
I've uploaded them, tooltips and card pages for these 2 sets should now show the correct card image. (If you still see the card back image in tooltips for these 2 sets, you might need to clear your browser's cache)
Yep, thanks a lot for the report. I've just fixed them.
These will be hopefully easier to spot after I add images for more of the cards (I'm working on that).
Yep, I've thought about this, and I think it's an important feature.
What held me back from implementing it is that in their current form, decks can be radically changed after someone rates them, rendering the rating irrelevant.
But there will be some changes in the near future that will enable this. So stay tuned
