Wow.  Those are huge trades.  I am sorry that this has happened to you.  It is probably time to file a Mail Fraud report, given the value of the trade.  sad

I have a Serra Avenger which looks just like you describe.  I asked The Misprint Guy via Reddit if he had seen ink smudging on M13 cards and he did say that the set has many more small printing errors than other sets.

The one other thing about Ebay worth mentioning is that the number of people who will see your listing vastly outnumbers the people who frequent this board.

Hellkites are selling for $30-35 shipped on Ebay right now and a FoW can be purchased for $45-55.  Ebay fees are ~13%, but hey, that's the cost of doing business.  You'll be much better off selling them there and then buying a FoW with the money you make from selling them.  I have successfully used this strategy when wanting to turn high dollar standard cards into expensive eternal format staples.  Good luck.

Thanks! I'm going to try my luck on deckbox first and let it run for a couple days to see if anyone is interested, if not then to ebay I go!

I'd suggest putting the Hellkites up as 1 day or 3 day Buy it Now listings for a couple reasons - Buy it Now allows you to set a minimum price you'll sell for in a much more elegant way than setting a reserve, and short listings prevent your cards from being tied up for 5-7 days at a time.  The key to getting the most for your standard cards which spike is timing and pricing.  You can always price to sell, even if you are a couple days late.  Good luck!

I use paypal to print out labels almost exclusively now because my local Post Office gives me a hard time about tracking small bubble mailers too.  The best way to get around their requirements is to make the bubble mailer thicker than 3/4" which is pretty easy to do if you tape a couple extra pieces of cardboard around the cards.  I've been accused of "overpackaging" before, but I'd rather not be hassled at the post office.  I've also found that the post office employees are generally happy to accept pre-paid packages, even if they do not meet the minimum dimensional requirements for tracking.

Another huge benefit of pre-paid shipping labels aside from the tracking is that I can walk right up to the counter at the Post Office, put my packages in the designated pre-paid postage section, and walk right out.  I don't wait in line at the post office anymore.

Hey, I'm interested in your Crucible, Top, Debtor's Knell, High Market, and Karrador.

Is there anything you want from my Inventory?

Thanks for your interest, but I don't see any high-priority wants.

Hey everyone.  Looking for some of the juicer EDH staples on my wishlist.  Horizon Canopy, Damnation, Vindicate, Kira, Wooded Foothills, Linvala, Iona, etc

Thanks for looking.

Looks like you didn't read Thrun's comment.  Thrun very plainly states that the sender is responsible for ensuring the cards are delivered.  That did not happen in this case.

A 50/50 split is in no way fair.  Lets pretend for a minute that we are not trading via the mail, but rather use this site to organize a face to face trade.  OP arrives at the meeting place with cards in hand.  Other trader arrives at the site and says that they lost their bag on the way there, but that if you give them the cards and they give you $15 everything is even.  Does the trade happen?  The definition of 'trade' is to transfer ownership of goods between people.  If we accept that what I just described is a trade, then we should also accept that the trade discussed in this trade was not completed.  The two parties agreed to transfer ownership of cards... which is a bit more than just sticking something in the mail.  It means ensuring that the exchanged property arrives at the intended destination.
The issue here is not the value of the cards, of that the cards were lost in the mail, but rather that the trade was not completed.  The cards should be returned, as simply as that.

Even though the vast majority of posters in this thread would choose to do the right thing when confronted with an unfortunate situation such as this, the official rules should be updated in a manner which makes it clear to every Doubting Thomas what the community expects of them should they find themselves in this situation.

As I see it, this situation is no different than had the OP ordered an item from an online store which was lost in the mail.  The course of action which should be taken next were that to happen would not be debated by anyone, as we all would agree that the OP should be refunded by the online merchant.  Look at it this way: Would you give an ebay seller or Amazon 50% of the value of your order because it was lost in the mail?   No, and in fact it would be preposterous for anyone to suggest you should.  I don't know why that same argument is somehow considered reasonable in this forum.

Splitting costs effectively penalizes the OP unfairly - they did everything correctly, the cards arrived safely and in a timely manner.  The cards should be returned - it is the responsibility of the sender to ensure their cards arrive at the destination.

Since it seems to be unanimous that everyone wants names, the guy in my stories username is JAKElolz.

Is there anyway to start a sticky thread on members who disobeyed the rules or is that going a bit overboard?

If it makes you feel better I'm the one Op was trading with and I had a canceled trade from the same guy you did. Except I'm trying to make it right, and still being harassed. Justice.

And I see you actually gave him negative feedback that says "Canceled a finalized trade without even a word" How is cancelling a finalized trade saying "Sorry, I got a better offer" any better than that? You claim you didn't know it was against the rules to cancel after trading addresses, but you gave someone a negative a week before for doing the same thing? Wut.

It doesn't take a Dracogenius to realize that is hypocrisy.

I also have this problem.  Probably the wordiest card with a full art version.
