Bump.  Updated OP.

I think you should move the 4x Brain Maggot from the board into the main deck, cutting the Grim Guardians, and cut the Sinister Pocessions for some combination of Banishing Light and something else for removal or tempo, maybe Oppressive Rays.  Brain Maggot helps you on tempo until you can get your engine going.  I would also suggest Doomwake Giant.  Brian Braun-Duin has had reasonable success with his Constellation deck in Junk colors using Doomwake to clear the board and bash Elspeth.

What about Immortal Servitude in the side board for Verdict decks?  You have a lot of 2-drop creatures that you could return for 5 mana.

Also, is the red splash really doing anything for you?  Mogis is pretty cool, but it seems like you're not getting much for the clunky mana.  If you keep red, what about a Tymaret, the Murder King engine with Athreos?  It's probably too cute, but would be awesome if you get it going.

What's with the spear of heliod?  I think I'm missing something there.

You may want to try some non-creature or more resilient ramp spells because Modern has a lot of cheap removal to take out your mana dorks.  I'm not saying any is better than another, but here are some options:

Rampant Growth

I've only played against one deck with the Flamespeaker so far and as soon and he resolved I killed it.  I suggest a plan to protect him from Doom Blade, Hero's Downfall, Banishing Light, etc., or accept that he's a lightning rod and use that to your advantage.

It CRUSHED the control decks that I played.  Unfortunately, both were brews, one Bant, one Esper, both with sub-optimal cards and new pilots.  The greatest feeling was Rakdos's Returning for x=5 after my Bant opponent tapped out for Elspeth...redirected the damage to Elspeth.

Lost to a Naya.....aggro/midrange? I guess you'd call it deck.  Just too many threats for me to 1-for-1.  Boarded in Anger, but didn't draw one.

Lost to Junk Renanimator.  I threw 2 Rakdos Charms in my SB just before leaving the house and did draw one against him in G2, but wasn't enough.  I have to Negate his Whip of Erebos or I lose.

I haven't played the deck since, but I'm working on acquiring the RU Temples and a Keranos to try it out with updated mana base.  The Keyrunes were very relevant for ramp, fixing and closing out the game after I Return their whole hand away.  Ral Zarek really did nothing.  He ramped me once, but everything he does is just meh.  I really liked playing the deck.  It was super complicated which is cool.

I EFFing LOVE casting Rakdos's Return.  Even more than I love casting Sphinx's Revelation.

This is a great guide.  I totally agree with not using packaging tape to close top loaders...grrrr.

One note about taping the cards to the envelope: I've had one envelope get ripped open in transit.  The cards stayed in the envelope, but I now use a single piece of scotch tape to secure the top loader to the envelope in case that ever happens again.  I don't know if that annoys others.
