sebi wrote:This stuff is indeed quite confusing, as the "detailed" card info was not designed into deckbox at start, I added it later, and then even way later I added the "detailed cards" support to decks in the form of "built decks". It's a bit clunky, and it confuses me too sometimes, even if I wrote the damn thing. At some point I need to clean this whole UI and interaction.
For deckbox to try to match your decks to your inventory 2 things have to be checked actually:
- the "is built" flag, which signifies that you actually intend to use this deck and either have or want the cards (as opposed to just some idea for a deck, or a deck that is actually a listing of some other types of cards, or as a reminder of something you once played, or a friend's deck etc etc)
- the "Edition/Price Match" dropdown in the deck, where you can leave it on default which does not try to guess any card details at all, or "my inventory" which will try to match the cards in your inventory to the ones in the deck
Finally, if this detection does not work, the only way you can get it to specifically set printings/language/condition/flags to cards on decks is to manually and explicitly set this information in the deck listing on each card via the dropdown in the "edition" column.
I will wait for a re-write whenever you might get around to it then. Thanks for your time!
Hmm after looking at it and changing it to as built, it didn't alter that column for most cards in the deck, it's still a 0 there. If I go down to the lands, I do see it showing me if I am missing a land completely then that column has a 1 in it and it says you don't have enough to build for this deck.
The only thing it seemed to change is now in the inventory column it says 0/1 or 0/2 etc. I would think for example if I had Arid Mesa in 4 decks and I owned 3 of them it would somehow show that or if I had 5 it would show that as well. Maybe I am just not understanding what it's supposed to do.

Looks like your decks are marked as "deck idea", which is the default setting, (first dropdown top left on the deck page, under the deck title).
When marked as "built", the counts are calculated, and matched more strictly to your inventory.
Awesome, thank you!
Anyone? Anyone?
I am guessing this feature doesn't exist, but I am turning up stuff I didn't know existed all the time.
I know if you go to an individual card page it shows you what decks you have it in. Is there a way from inside a deck to show you that same info? It doesn't have to show you the deck it's in, but at least a count. So I build a new deck, inventory says yeah you have 40 of these cards already. It would be cool to know if any of them are already in decks without clicking on each one.
Maybe this is it below?
I do see a column called deck count. There is a zero next to all cards though. Hovering over it says this:
"How many cards you need in all your built decks (The maximum count - it assumes you are willing to use the same card in multiple decks. (You can change this in your settings)).
Where is this setting? I do not see it in Edit Profile / Settings. If I can get this changed, that might be what I need.
Thanks all!
Guess I am jumping on the bandwagon here. I was just trying to figure out how to add proxies to my inventory. I just assumed there would be a checkbox for it, but I guess not. I would REALLY like to have this feature.
So trying to find cards that exist in multiple decks that I have saved but without searching for a card in the search bar one at a time. Not sure if that makes sense. Basically compare decks and show what is shared between them. Doesn't have to be in all of them, but say if I have mana confluence in 3 of my 20 decks I want it to show that. I am guessing there is no way, but you never know. It would be cool if you exported your inventory if there was a column that showed what decks the card was in.

Export both as CSVs. To make things a little easier, rename the inventory CSV to something short with no spaces in it, like "Inv". (It's just a temp file anyways.)
Open both, and in a blank column of each, copy down this formula:
=B2 & D2 &...X2
where the letters represent the columns of each criteria you want to match, separated by the & sign (no dots). Obviously you'll need at least B2 for the Name, but you can decide whether or not you want to precisely match e.g. foiling or edition.
In your deck CSV, create a new column next to Count (label it Inventory or whatever). Copy down this formula:
=SUMIF( FileName.csv!X:X, Y2, FileName.csv!A:A )
where FileName is what you chose in step1, and X and Y are the columns you populated in step 2 for the Inventory and Deck CSVs, respectively.
You can also make a Missing column. Copy down this formula: =IF( X2<2, TRUE, "" )
where X is the column you created in step 3.
Save your Deck CSV and close it. CSV files do not retain formulas, so once you close it, it'll just save the results. The Inventory CSV can now be safely discarded. You can also safely delete the column you made in step 2 after you reopen the Deck CSV.
It may seem complicated, but it took me just a couple minutes to perform all the steps.
Finally got around to trying this out and it worked great. Thanks for taking the time.
meldon44 wrote:Not directly, no. That would be a great feature!
As a workaround, you could export both your cube and your inventory to CSV, then use Excel to query your inventory CSV for the cards in your cube, get the count from that query, then have a column that flags it as available or not.
If you're not sure how to go about that, let me know and I could type up some process steps.
But I agree -- should be one of the available "extra columns" when exporting!
If you can easily give me the steps that would be great. Otherwise, I will have to see if Google can teach me.
Thanks for the reply.
Is there a way to export to CSV that has the CSV include the number of cards that you have in your inventory? It shows the count, which is 1 since this is a large cube I am working on. I know I could send all the cards to the wishlist that were missing, but I don't want to put cards in the cube if I only have one of them. So anything with multiple copies I will say I have one of. This is why I want the CSV export to include my inventory count of the card.
Thanks!
Reap the Tides also being blocked by bitly currently. I did open a ticket with them saying it should be fine yesterday though.
Is there any way in deckbox or any other site I guess that will show you want tokens you need for a particular deck in your library or a list of cards? Every time I think I have all mine pulled/bought I find more.
Thanks in advance
Got a couple of questions I hope someone can help with.
First, what would be the easiest way to add 4 of every common from a specific set without adding them one at a time?
Second, I am using Delver to scan in my rares and uncommon cards. Basically, every time I scan in new cards there I just delete my entire inventory from deckbox and import the full list again from Delver. Is there a better way to go about this?
Thanks in advance
Never mind, I left a dang word out. I got it.
I might just be missing it or doing something wrong, but can you not search your inventory for cards with specific text on them? Like "enters the field tapped unless you control" . I added the Rules Text filter and put that in there, but it finds nothing. I don't see another filter that would be the right one. Any help on this one?
