BTR aren't negative in and of themselves... If you open one up and communication resumes, then you have your desired outcome. A lack of communication, especially after he said he'd send his end, is not something you should have to live with... I'd say open the BTR. Worst case scenario, he gets notified from the Mods and he responds to you... It sounds like he's not the scammer type. Just needs proper motivation to get back in touch with you...

That's just my two cents though.

I started a discussion as well... Look forward to working with you.

Never even considered that.... Wow. great thought.. What in the heck do i remove from the deck to make room for it though... i've already whittled that one to what i'd consider the absolute must haves...

Interesting... I haven't seen that build. I kinda like it...

I enjoy decks with multiple WinCons (who doesn't) and that definitely seems to be the case w/ Act 2.

For kicks and giggles, here is my wife's deck... I've updated it a bit and fixed the mana problem quite well... It seems capable of performing against my deck and I think it's the better of the two builds. http://deckbox.org/sets/325827

Amazing how much Arbor elf changes the complexion of a deck. :-)

DBers, I have had this deck up and running for a little while now and for some reason, even through the tweaks, it feels like it's missing something.

Problem 1: Typically have no more than 4 mana on the board at any given time. (Even after adding a couple lands and shuffling very thoroughly.

Problem 2: My wife's mid-range Simic deck has been tweaked to the point where this deck barely squeaks out victory (if at all). (Note: I built both decks and have spent more time tweaking hers than mine, perhaps I've just made it where that one is specialized against mine...)

Problem 3: I don't think this would compete well at FNM... at all...

So, my question is this.. Is Reckoner/BA a lost cause combination? Fun to watch happen but too slow to depend on?

or

Am I just missing something in my deckbuilding process that could make this competitive?

Appreciate your insights and here the link http://deckbox.org/sets/326262.

Discussion also started my friend. Hope we can match up on something! :-) You have lots of delicious goodies.

Started a deal with u bro. Hope we can work something out

Angel of Glory's rise actually might not be effective at all... If you're up against Dimir/Mill, what are you going to do when you see your angels go from stack to graveyard? Is there a different option out there to protect against that?

Yea i have the same hanging out in mine... My main focus is getting the Stuffy or Reckoner down... Just played against my Simic deck and it may be that it's a work of art or the cards missing from my Boros deck will just help that much but... Dang. My Simic control deck is mean. sad

I've been waiting on some feedback on my deck as well but in the absence of that, I'll let you know my main concern with our decks... Dimir/Mill... I'm not sure either of our decks has enough graveyard tricks to keep us in the game. That would be something useful for our sideboards but right now, I don't have any advice. I wish I did. I'll be playtesting my Boros Stuffy Death deck tomorrow (hopefully) and will have more for you then.

I'm also going to be playing this boros deck against a simic deck (on my decklist) that I recently built. I have a feeling they will play favorably against each other. There again, I built both with a pretty quick early game and a substantial mid game... Playtesting will be the true test though. Let me know how yours works out.

Yea, i'm wanting to keep this standard for right now. Really would like it to be competitive as well... I know the gimmick may make it tough to bring up to competitive standards but if y'all have any ideas, i'd really love it. The sideboard is also a wreck right now...

Greetings. First, thanks for the help on my Simic deck. Looking forward to playing it this weekend. I'm back with another favor. This deck: http://deckbox.org/sets/326262 is one that I am trying to put together. Hopefully a unique twist on the Reckoner abilities. The intent is to have multiple ways to do a crap ton of damage in a short period of time. I just need to whittle it down. With the speed of decks today, ideally, I would get out of a fast start w/ the 1, 2 and 3 drops and then be able to throw down a stuffy doll before throwing down a blasphemous act and dual casting it.

Essentially, would like to win the short game, stall through the mid game and drop a mean hammer in the end. What's the best way to draw this deck down to 60 cards without losing it's identity or intermediate game...? Thanks for the assistance and have a great day!

I think we may have a match... I'll open a trade with you if that's ok...

I will go through my counter deck. I may have ONE... I will look through your list and see what i'd be looking for. I'm fairly sure i have at least one but... more to come. I'll keep you posted.

I appreciate all the feedback so far on this deck. It has undergone significant transformation over the last week or so... I am now trying to figure out how to pare it down to the typical 60 cards and I'm having a hard time deciding where to cut... Here is the focus of the deck in my opinion:

A) Create ginormous critters with counters
B) Eliminate the opponents ability to block them (thereby negating need for Sapphire Drake or Rancor or any other special combat trick)
C) Move those counters at will to do what I need to to win (draw cards, get mana, create an ungodly huge ooze or unblockable Krasis or steal their critters)
D) Have at least 4 wincons to give the counter or mill decks a fit.

I think that has been achieved but as always, your experiences would be greatly appreciated. Where do I pare down is my main question now... Thanks!

Forgot the link to the deck: http://deckbox.org/sets/325827

I would definitely consider tri-color... but my manipulator is the creature control I feel like I need... However... Would be nice to have a way of making their creatures smaller w/o killing them... I mean, theoretically, I could put enough counters on the manipulator to take up to a 5/5 but if i could make the 5/5 a 1/1, would be infinitely easier... but w/ the over-run of Boros, I think this deck would play well against an army of Boros. They'd never get the 3 attack feature they'd want cause their critters would all be in my control... unless of course, they can hexproof everything which would suck.

Thanks for the help... I have updated the decklist and am continuing to tinker. Have a friend who is helping me finish the deck... But any other thoughts here would be great.

Considering Zameck Guildmage over Fathom Mage... Even though Fathom Mage has evolve, 3 drop is a bit pricey... I can manipulate counters by Zameck. I'm not really concerned with creating counters to remove for card draw... Is it logical to make this swap?

I'm also contemplating rancor but w/ the card count getting high, I'm having to make some tough decisions. The theory/focus of the deck is to A) steal the opponent critters. B) Kill w/ my unblockable Krasis. C) Create an Ooze that can overrun the opposition.

Champion of Lambholt seems like a natural fit for this deck too... Makes my massive Krasis or Ooze unblockable... Seems pretty mean...

Again, any further feedback is awesome!

Wicked help man... Thanks a ton. Yea, I'm just getting my stocks replenished as being out of the game for so long has made it an expensive venture to get back in... Thanks for the advice on Gyre Sage... I'll see what I can do on getting more... I have ooze flux in my mind and you bring a good point on the Hydra. It seems as though this deck has a chance to be incredibly fun... I think I'm missing some trample pieces in there but at this point, I'm wanting to add more than I can take away... Really need to start focusing down on what I want in here.

Like I said, my main strategy in this deck... especially against boros, is to steal all their little critters w/ my simic manipulator... turning their army into mine... I do need the critters to get counters but i'm startin to think i'm a little critter heavy. If my intent is to steal their army, maybe I should focus in on that.... Thoughts?

Greetings all... I am recently back into this wonderful hobby after a 12 year hiatus. Lots has changed and it seems like decks have only gotten faster. Regardless, I've always enjoyed a good control deck and it looks like w/ Gatecrash, that wonderful mechanism has a potentially successful ally... Please take a look at my deck and provide any thoughts...

Theory behind the deck is to be able to generate counters and manipulate them at will to either draw cards, steal creatures from the enemy or overpower them w/ trample ability. My intention is for this to play well against both the Boros speed and the mid range options out there. Taking this deck to the late game seems like a bad idea but... regardless, your thoughts are appreciated:
