So Im looking to rebuild my old maro-gedden deck but i figure ide ask for some ideas.

Im looking for a easy way to draw more cards earlier onim trying to keep it green white, but i can also add http://deckbox.org/mtg/City%20of%20Brass if needed. Im just curious as to what you guys think.

My old version of the deck played http://deckbox.org/mtg/Soul%20Warden to keep alive early on. Im just thinking at this point If i can use a reasonable card drawing engine then i will be able to use http://deckbox.org/mtg/Ivory%20Tower to gain life quicker and more efficiently in conjunction with http://deckbox.org/mtg/Spellbook which will be replacing http://deckbox.org/mtg/Library%20of%20Leng.

Im just getting back into the game so i dont know if its even feasible to make it a tournament playable deck. Just feeling a bit nostalgic and i figure it would be a nice change of pace from my reanimation deck that i play around the house.

i also have to figure out how to properly post links give me another week as i dont have time to muck around with figuring it out now.

im thinking Maze's End could be a nice addition as a alternative win option.

So a couple of months ago my nephew came to me and said hes been playing MTG at school during lunch. The kid he was playing was being rude and belligerent. Saying things like my nephew will never be good at the game because he doesint own cards. I had quit playing shortly after mirage block, sold all my cards, and forgot about the game. My nephew had no idea that his father and I used to play. At least until he told me about about his struggle. The kid was shocked! "what you used to play?!¿¡" I was then barraged by a thousand questions.

Personally I hated players that gloated in such a sour manner. I know I sold my cards and I didint really want to spend a lot of money so my nephew could beat this kid like a school yard tattle tail. Then my brother mentioned he had his cards in the attic. CHA CHING!!! That weekend I spent hours trying to put together a workable deck.

Sunday night I spent the kid packing, armed with a mono green deck I was hoping he could pull off a win. The strategy was simple any creature that can add mana play early then throw down a large creature asap. i just wasint sure if it was going to be good enough to shut up the kid who told my nephew that he will never be a good player. Tuesday night I got a message from my nephew. "I won on turn 5!"

Apparently the deck worked. As a result my nephew and I got the magic bug. Hes been continuing "training" playing with mono colored decks so he gets a feel for each colors flavor. For him I can only hope he can become a compassionate player, with some decent playing skill.

Not sure where I was going with this, but what I can say. Magic is about making friends, critical thinking, and sharing ideas. Magic is not about inflating your ego. Maybe your reading this and you have a  tendency to lean towards the arrogant side. If so just remember. One day a seemingly novice player will come from out of nowhere and surpass you.

I think its charming...

Ok ill start with the land. 25 land in a deck allways feels excessive to me. Normally the decks im playing run on 20 or less mana. i just use creative ways to compensate for this. I will explain a lil more later.

I would most likely pull all three shimmering grotto. Why pay one mana for a mana of any color when your only playing 2 colors. an option here would be orzhov guild gate. It comes into play tapped but you dont have to pay one mana to effectively use it.

Haunted Fengraf produces only colorless mana and its ability is so so at best. if you get this land in a opening draw it would hurt you really badly. especially if its the only land you draw. So ide kick it to the curb like last weeks girlfriend.

Onto the creature business.
Ok so my philosphy for white is that its strong on getting rid of artifacts and enchantments, in addition to having powerful early attackers. I mention this because the pride guardian feels awkward to me. If your playing a creature heavy deck and plan to win by attacking. Why not cast a small white 1/1 with a random ability. I would most likely throw in a dutiful thrull or a tundra wolf for a second turn attack.

Now for the spells.
Disentomb seems kind of weak in this deck. how many large creatures will you be able to bring back to your hand late game? I feel that pulling this and adding another creature of some sort may be a better idea.

Mires toll is a bit off. Here is why your oppoent gets to choose 2 cards. So if you play it first or second turn he will most likely show 2 cards he doesint mind losing. As for late game your opponent should have a empty hand depending on their strategy. So if you can only play it on your turn then it might be waste of a draw. Or swap it for duress.

I like evil presence as a sideboard card. Load up 4 of them in a match against a non black deck and you will limit their available mana. As for main deck. Not to sure. Im sure some other smaller creatures would be more help with getting creatures out. Ive allways liked the blood pet.

Thats my input. So just by looking at the cards ide say more small creatures with abilities that have helpful abilities.

Im keen on the Hypnotic Specter over Hymn to Tourach. It would give you a flying creature to equip. While your opponent scrambles to unload their hand.

As far as the Diabolic Edict. Why not use Terror? I hate giving my opponent a choice as to what dies.
