Sebi, thanks a lot for all your work!
I got a question: is there a way to sort cards in the opposite manner, by "the earliest printing"?
I have a very practical need for this. I maintain several MTG card collections in my own way, which involves getting any one printing of a specific card matching that collection's criteria.
For a simple example, I collect Wraiths. All cards that have Wraith subytpe. Yeah, I know, I'm weird
So, to display all cards that I would need to complete my collection, I use this:
https://deckbox.org/games/mtg/cards?f=4
=e&o=a
It shows all Wraiths ever printed, and I can see which cards I'm lacking, all good, just what I need.
However, I place all of my collections in binders. Ideally, I would like to be able to place them in order of appearance. If you look at the link above, for example the Street Wraith appears out of order. It was first printed in Future Sight, so it's supposed to be between Odylic Wraith and Bog Wraith in that list. It's easy to properly insert Street Wraith since this is a very small collection, but when you take the Myr collection for example (yeah, I know, I'm weird ), there are many of them and they have been reprinted all over the masters sets, it's becoming very hard to keep proper ordering in my collection.
Btw, the standard sets being apart from special sets is totally fine, that's exactly how I place them. However, if a card appeared in both (like Street Wraith), I would like to place it in the appropriate part, wherever it was printed for the first time ever, in proper order.
Is there a way to sort database cards this way? If not, would you consider ever introducing such sorting?
