It is. I was the one that comissioned the restoration.

That is awesome! I remembered seeing the article on Reddit and he mentioned he doesn't normally do restorations. So, it seemed possible!

I wish I had enough to offer you in trade, but alas. Cool alter though :)

Bah! As a collector I would love to trade for this, it's just unfortunate as it would mean parting with a decent amount of my legacy land base =(

Well let me know if you would consider making the trade. That's the kind of trade I'm looking to make. :)

Added a bunch of foils I have that I would like to swap art for. Obviously I will give the extra value to make up the difference.

It's just really hard to value such a thing since the alter through restoration takes from the value of the card. Personally I would look at 2 trops and 2 seas as a reasonable offer. I look at alpha/beta duals like power, they're something easier bought and sold than traded for.

I agree that this card is very difficult to place a value on. When deciding on a value range I looked at the other available copies of English, Black Bordered Tropical Islands and subtracted a percentage from those asking prices. Obviously this can't truly be considered an Alpha dual since it has paint, but it still is english and black bordered which is a big plus. Also, do consider that this restoration was done by Eric Klug who is one of, if not the best magic alterist in the business. I might be interested in your offer. I'll start up a trade so we can talk.

Posting this on the high-end facebook group is probably the easiest way to get rid of it. Take whatever you can get for it there and run.

I tried. My post didn't get approved. I guess this isn't high-end enough for the admins.

Try these groups then:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1386305538261835/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/MtGBuySellTrade/

The high end group should approve a post with you card in it. Be sure to follow all of their rules, specifically they are very strict about the "every post must have a price" rule. The two groups I linked above are more lenient. You'll probably get some offers there which will help you nail down what people are willing to pay/trade for your card.

I've posted several times in that group and only once or twice did my post get approved even though every single one met their requirements. After this last one I just gave up and left the group. The worst part was a post not getting approved and receiving no explanation as to why.
