Hi!

I have some FBB cards, German, Italian, Chinese etc.

What is their correct expansion or what do I register them under.

I think maybe 4th Edition is correct, but then the image will be of a white bordered 4th Edition card, and the price is the same as that card. Are the FBB cards of the 4th Edition (assuming these cards are from that expansion) more "worth" than the white bordered english counterparts?

I have some examples that I have registered, used Beta as I did not know of the correct/better way to do it. But Beta prices is surely not correct for these, but also maybe not the white bordered alternative either:

Chinese FBB Sengir Vampire, only 13 cents registered under 4th ed. more than $19 as Beta. Both must be wrong, no doubt the Beta version.
Italian FBB Unholy Strenght
German FBB Twiddle etc.

What will be the correct way to register these. How much % to add to the value if the white border equalients are the correct to register those cards under?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,
John

The best way to mark FBB cards is the same as any other card: Correct set, correct language, correct condition ect. The value of these cards vary way too much for Sebi to try and track each of them individually and I think it is unreasonable to ask him to track down pictures of every single printing in every language. People that will want to trade for these cards most likely already know they are black bordered and if they don't you can just tell them and then tell them the value that you place on it. As with everything, they're only worth what people are willing to pay for them (or in this case trade).

Perhaps it might be worth adding another card property (similar to foil) for FBB to remove any confusion. Thoughts, Sebi?

A FBB option would be nice. But what is the correct set for these FBB cards? 4th Edition?

Of course, I said "worth", but would be nice to have some guideline on these FBB's as well. But I understand this could be difficult. I think the example I gave, the FBB Japanese Sengir Vampire might go for a little more than the white bordered english version at 13 cents...(if the FBB's are 4th?)

John

It depends on the language. The black bordered cards are whatever the first print run in that language was, whether it was Unlimited, Revised, 4th w/e. White bordered cards were introduced to indicate reprints. Since these were the first print runs in that language they were given black borders.

Doing a little interweb research reveals that 4th edition was the first printing of Asian languages. Italian, French, and German were first printed in Revised. There is also the FBB set called Renaissance. For German and French it contained the cards intended to be in 4th edition that weren't previously printed in that language. For Italian it contained the cards to be in 4th and Chronicles that weren't previously printed in Revised, Legends, or The Dark.

Fourth edition was printed in black border for Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese.

Simplified Chinese was first printed for 5th edition, but in white borders.

This article I think has all of the information you're looking for. As for the value of the cards, I don't know much about that. Obviously collectors will value FBB higher than white bordered, but that's a really difficult thing to put a value on. I'm sure there is a facebook group and I wouldn't be surprised if there was an entire website dedicated to the valuation of FBB cards, but I just don't know what/where they are.

You ninja deleted your question!

Looks like German FBB Twiddle is Renaissance.

Sebi knows that FBB is requested. I'm sure it's on his to-do list.

...encountered a little problem.

FBB Twiddle German, Twiddle has no option for Revised nor Renaissance (not sure which) to choose from, as it was printed in one of those sets in Germany. Understandably there is no option for Revised as it did not apper there in the English version. What would you have done to register the German Black Border Twiddle?

John

Another question. German cards BB with Legends, The Dark symbols on them, what set is that? And is there an option to choose those in the inventory list? Many thanks in advance!

I'm also interested on the FBB card option (that would work in the same way as selecting foil). Any news on this request? It's been a while since this topic was last touched.
