Hey all. I've been using Decked Builder as my collection management tool of choice since I started collecting a few years ago. However, I recently built a new PC since Windows 10 support was ending, and when I went to authenticate my paid version of the desktop app, it wouldn't properly authenticate. For those of you who haven't used the app, you cannot save changes to your collection in any way without the paid version of the software, so it is basically bricked for collection management. Fortunately I had backup .csv versions of my collection in place since I was already migrating my files, but unless I plug in my old computer and use the authenticated version on that device, Decked Builder is not usable for me.
When I raised this issue in their Discord, it seems like upkeep of the app had been handed over to a new developer, but there was a fumble with the handoff of the authentication server for the Windows version (see attachment). With no fix forthcoming in the near term, I would expect a bunch of folks who were still using Decked Builder to be searching for a new home for their collection management needs. It's a bummer, because I'm a fan of the oldschool "buy the software" model over subscriptions, and having my collection be local to my computer instead of cloud based.
I'm working on getting my collection into Deckbox now to give it a try; fortunately y'all have a Decked Builder import function. When I tried it I had ~1300 of my 40k card collection throw an error, so I'll migrate what I can, see if the app works for my collection needs, and decide if it's worth it for a manual fix for the rest.
