Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

SWEET!  downloaded!

App crashes when I try to update the DB.  it imported my wishlist but not my inventory or trades.  Good looking app, I do like where it's headed!

Shoe, thanks for insights :-)

Have you tried reinstalling the app? On what device it crashes? Which iOS? Could you describe all the steps till crash, so I can reproduce it on my device?

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

I downloaded to my ipad 2 (wifi only, IOS 5.1.1).  I entered in my login, and like Shoe it got my wishlist but not my inventory or tradelist.  However, when I hit "update databases" under Settings I get "Connection error!" instead of a crash.  I can tap the "Visit Deckbox" button and it takes me right there, so at least the general web connection is fine.

I have been looking forward to this for a while, glad it's finally out!

In the future, do you have plans to allow hand-entering trades, such that it will compare values and when I hit "trade completed" or something along those lines it'd take from my tradelist and wantlist, and add to inventory?  At the very least keep track of multiple trades so I can do it from a computer later?

iPhone 4s, 6.X whatever the latest version is.  It crashes when I try to view my inventory (whihc is quite large) and I cannot scroll through).  My trades list will not populate, I get a "failed to connect" error, even though I have part of my inventory and all of my wishlist imported.

Hope this helps, thanks for bringing deckbox to mobile devices!

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

Everything's working quite well accept my tradelist will not fill in either

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

@Shoe: I've just chcked the size of your DB -- it's HUGE! It might be a memory related issue. I'll do some testing for 1.1 to get you covered.

@imsully2: this might be a similar issue. I kind of noticed more detailed information in your tradelist, namely there are icons of dci cards and similar. This might be an issue we're looking at, since I never entered the info and tested the app (works properly for inventory, wishlist and trades) mainly on my account.

I'll look into it ASAP (mon/tue probably) and release an update.

If you notice anything strange, send me the info and I'll be fixing all the issues.

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

I think the app is great BTW, I feel like the Tradelist is the least important since I've got all the cards right there in my binder anyway

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

Thanks for your feedback :-)

Do you know their current value by heart? ;-)

this is true, I do have a crapton of cards, but I don't think this is particularly abnormal.  Most magic players have tons of cards.  Keep up the good work!

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

When I go to the settings it says 'Dropbox login'

I think maybe it's a typo and supposed to say Deckbox... But when I put my deckbox login name in the field, it just says "Account not found!"

Suggestions?

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

@Shoe: thanks, will do!

@Wismac: you're so right! It must have been autocorrected or something. Will be fixed in 1.1. Thanks for letting me know.

EDIT:

Shoe, I've just downloaded your database on an iPhone 4. I managed to scroll through to the bottom of your inventory (boy it's big!) and wishlist and had no problems. Could you reinstall the app completely and try again? (please mind: username is case sensitive).

EDIT 2:

@Nighthawk: I just checked your case and there is an exporting problem related somehow to your account. Please contact SEBI and pass him this info:

"<div class="layout_center">
  <h2>The server has encountered an error.</h2>
  <p>
    <img src="/images/error.png" alt="Error" align="left" style="padding-right: 20px"/>
    I have been notified of the error and I will try to fix it shortly.
    If the problem persists and you're really in a hurry, please send me an email (at
    <a href="mailto:contact@deckbox.org">contact@deckbox.org</a>).
  </p>
   <br/></br><br/>
   Sorry for the inconvenience!
</div>"

Shoe must have had the same problem.

EDIT 3:

@imsully2: Same thing. Wishlist downloads, inventory too, but your tradelist leads to the same error as Nighthawk has. I'll write to Sebi about the issue.

EDIT 4:

I've just sent a message to Sebi about your issues. I hope you'll be able to use iDeckbox without any problems soon.

EDIT 5:

Yes, I do plan to extend the app with some nice features. I'll be adding a way to manage your DB on the phone and generate reports on what changed so you could easily update your deckbox when you log onto the site. I will also be adding a way to visually check your library and to conduct recorded trades (app will remember what you gave and got and calculate price of both). I'm brainstroming the way to access your decklists on the go, too, with cached card images. Searching and filtering are on my to-do list, too, not to mention displaying other prices (low and high). I even might add a way to manage multiple databases and convert prices to your local currency, but this is a really distant possibility. I really have a lot of ideas but not much free time on my hands, so all this will take a short while ;-)

EDIT 6:

Quick info: I've just sent 1.1 to Apple for review ;-)

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

I have a ipad3, and it crashes when entering "Dropbox login".
However when i open the app again, the login is already entered and everything's fine.
Do you plan to support real login so we can make new decks, trades, etc. ?

I attached my crash report, if it can help (noticed a [NSObject doesNotRecognizeSelector:])

When it crashes, i must re-'Update databases'.

@NecroSado: Thank you for attaching the crash report! :-) I've just downloaded your inventory and wishlist on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 (iOS 6). No crashes whatsoever. Could you try again on your device? Maybe the error is caused by server problems, as it was with Shoe and others.

Yeah, I kind of not included support for WoW and WI and the app gets confused about which inventory to use. It's a simple fix, really and I've included it already, but it'll be available only from v1.2.

A quick fix for you is to:
1) export your WoW inventory, wishlist and tradelist,
2) remove this category from your account (preferably by removing your entries),
3) downloading youd magic db with iDeckbox,
4) importing WoW data back into Deckbox.

It's a lot of hassle, I know and I'm sorry for that. I'm planning to release 1.2 arount 15th of November, so you (and for the matter everybody with WoW and WI data) will be covered from then on.

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

I've been having problems downloading my inventory to the app.  How do I tell if I'm running into the same server-side error as the people above?

You do If you have only part of your DB downloaded (e.g. just inventory+wishlist or wishlist+tradelist etc.). I'm working closely with Sebi to resolve this issue asap. I'll incorporate better error messages into 1.2. Stay tuned.

No problem. Thanks for you work!

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

First off, B-E-A-UTIFUL work with getting this up and running! Ive enjoyed using it thus far. I can't wait for the next wave of updates because they sound like they will make this app even more awesome than it already is smile

Also great work on your Life Counter App. Ive been using that one for a while and its my go to App for all Magic related Fun!

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

sweet deal, seems fixed, I'm crash free after that update

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

First of all Sebi has dropped me a line about DB exports -- they should be fine now, so everybody with missing lists is invited to perform an update.

@Helios: thank you, for your kind words. Stay tuned for those updates, because they're coming :-)

@Shoe: that's great news!

And 1.1 is coming next week.

Changelog:
- faster lists scrolling,
- minor optimizations,
- groundwork for future updates.

It's nothing big, but quite important for 1.2.

I'd like to ask you one thing: could you write a review for the app? I don't care about how many stars you give but I'd love new users to know what other people think about it when they look for cards library management apps and happen to stumble upon iDeckbox. Thanks in advance!

Guess I'll wait for the update.  Any attempt to enter my login information results in a crash.  Tried respring, reboot, reinstall.. same thing sad

Which iDevice? Which iOS? On what network are you? Have you tried logging in again after 24 hours?

I can't really help you if you simply complain without providing detailed information about your situation...

Re: iDeckbox v1.0 for iPhone and iPad is AVAILABLE :-)

I, for one, don't have an iDevice.  I think I'll post a poll asking people to identify what phone/device OS they use.

Profile - Wishlist - Tradelist

Black and Blue--not just for bruises anymore.
