Over the past weekend, I had the pleasure/misfortune of buying a good friend out of the game. He had a pretty decent collection, he just didn't have time for the game anymore. As I had alot of the cards that he gave, I am now left with a MOUND of extra copies. So before I put them on ebay, I'm offering them for sale to you all at deckbox. Below are the notables but EVERYTHING must go.

3x Sphinx's Revelation
1x Snapcaster Mage
1x Geist of Saint Traft
3x Thundermaw Hellkite
4x Restoration Angel
3x Angel of Serenity (1 Foil)
1x Boros Reckoner
1x Avacyn, Angel of Hope

I would like to get a little bit below TCGPlayer low value on these. Currently I can only accept paypal at this time. I will accept Paypal gifts as payment or if you wish to offer as an item payment, you will pay the Paypal feel (2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction.)

All cards will ship in toploaders, bubble mailers and include tracking. I will cover all shipping charges, you cover the paypal fees.

I will give small discounts if you decide to purchase a good amount at once. All cards are in NM condition. Everything in my tradelist is for sale just shoot me an offer (no lowballs please) and we'll see what we can do!

Hey CD,

I'm definitly interested in buying quiete a few of your cards, but I was wondering if you also ship to Europe (Netherlands to be precise) and if you have any experience with that, as I never did this so far.

Looking forward to your response.

Cobra2k, why don't you start up a discussion with a list of what you're looking for and we'll see if we can't work something out? I don't have much experience, but I'm sure it can't be that difficult to learn.

PayPal User Agreement wrote:8. Fees.
8.1 Fees Overview. Fees are based on whether you are making a Purchase Payment, a Personal Payment or a PayPal Business Payment. Some fees are expressed as a percentage of the payment amount. All Fees are in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise stated.

For Purchase Payments, the recipient of the payment will always pay the Fee.

Just saying.. against PayPal terms and bad ethic requiring buyers to pay the fee.

One I have always disapproved of.
It is the equivalent of having the buyer pay your Amazon or eBay fees, just slightly cheaper.

I'm fairly new to this, but I could have sworn that that was the standard around these forums (I'm probably wrong). Do people accept gifts only then? Or is having the seller pay the fees the only "acceptable" way?

No you're right 100% that it is the standard around these parts. It's a rule few people know about, and fewer practice. I've never bought/sold from anyone who had any qualms with this on deckbox though, and never run into anyone who has had an issue with paypal

Edit: Reduced quote size

There is no real 'standard'. There is a rule, listed above.
But many traders online do require the buyers to pay the fee, even though they should not. It's a personal choice really, PayPal hasn't shown much interest in pursuing those who operate outside of their guidelines in this way.

I expect people to pay me via a Purchase Transaction, as that is what it is; and I have a set price I am selling at, as all should.

edit: it boils down to personal choice and ethics. do what you want, we all do anyway.

Why does it really matter? If the seller has to pay the fee, he'll obviously charge more to make up for it. For certain cards on eBay, you end up receiving tcgplayer mid anyway, and then minus 9% in eBay fees still puts you above tcgplayer low.

I'm not saying the dollar amount is significant, just the requirement to pay the seller's overhead. Businesses don't tack on extra taxes for their rent, electricity, staff, etc. They include it in the price. It is a simple matter of being straightforward and taking responsibility of your transaction.

This is turning into a tangent, we should probably let this continue as a trade thread; feel free to make a topic about it if you guys want to talk more about it.

So would you say that it is more "ethical" to just include the charge in the original price?

I believe so. Ethics are relative though, so it's still your choice.
But at least you won't get naggy noobs like me spouting his disapproval

edit: not necessarily 'include fee', but price appropriately, prepared to pay the fee. Though, I should say, I do appreciate your friendly pricing, as pointed out by asmodeanreborn.
