Re: Selling Collection (Singles)

If you're charging TCG average, shipping, and paypal fees then why wouldn't they just buy from the store and avoid some or all of the extra costs?

This is a vaild point. People selling on this site or through the reddit trade thread generally sell for cheaper than low tcg prices, or at least do free shipping. If people are going to be paying the average TCG prices, they could be buying them locally or from TCGplayer for cheaper lol..

Not to mention it's actually TCG Player median price, now. You can get it for a few $ cheaper on higher price cards.

This is a very good question and I would be happy to explain.

I am not charging TCGplayer average prices for most sales. I am only using the TCG-average prices as a base for negotiation. There are many online sources that can be used for price data (SCG, eBay, TCG, CFB). It is difficult to price cards when there is so much variance between popular online stores. For convenience, I have chosen to use TCGplayer-averages for my pricing data because I feel that these accurately represent the true market value for each card. I understand that this is not always the case and I am happy to review any other pricing information when necessary.

I also understand that my shipping fees are on the expensive side. However, the $2.55 is the true cost it takes for me to mail an item with a bubble mailer and postage. If anyone knows of a way to reduce these costs, I could really use some help in this area. I admit, I too would be hesitant to purchase from myself with these costs. However, I can positively say that I am very fast at shipping out orders (same day or next day after payment is received). I place orders on TCGplayer all the time and most of the time it takes at least three business days for orders to ship out. Some of the stores on TCGplayer don’t even provide working tracking numbers and will ship you your product in paper envelopes (which is unsafe).

As for the PayPal fees, that is just the cost for doing business on PayPal. Most people will want to use the gift option to avoid these fees but that option does not offer any protection for the buyer or seller. If something goes wrong PayPal can step in and try to resolve disputes. Most trading/sales forums have rules that specifically suggest that trading partners not use the gift option for this reason.

Another benefit from purchasing from me is that I will provide buyers with real pictures and accurate descriptions of the actual card (front and back). This is something that online stores do not offer. I once ordered lightly played cards from TCGplayer and have received heavy played and signed cards at this condition. If you buy from me, what you see is what you get.

01. -- For individual cards and small orders the price for shipping will be $2.55????

That's crazy talk. One stamp in a single envelope will ship 7-8 cards in penny sleeves with a top loader. Its never failed me

I have received cards (from a tcgplayer store) in a normal envelope where the sorting machine destroyed the envelope. I was lucky that the machine didn't destroy the cards and that nothing fell out through the huge tear in the middle.

I completely agree that $2.55 to ship something small is outrageous but bubble mailer + sleeves + topload card holder has never failed me! big_smile

Re: Selling Collection (Singles)

That's why they invented scotch tape. I've had people send me cards that had that same issue. I find the common error to be the cards aren't secured inside the envelope. Sometimes the top loaders aren't even taped at the top and the cards have slid out.

Tape them to a sheet of paper. fold the paper to fit inside the envelope. close envelope and put a piece of tape on both short sides of the envelope. the paper keeps it rigid without adding weight and the tape on the edge prevents ripping in the postal machines.

Re: Selling Collection (Singles)

I'm interested in some of your foils and can offer ~65% of TCGplayer mid for them (since this is a private sale and I will not be paying store prices and I'm paying the paypal fees + shipping).  Let me know if you are interested.

Re: Selling Collection (Singles)

I'm interested in some of your cards, but like others have said I don't plan on paying above TCG low for the same card, unless shipping is free.

For instance I'll give you $40 for both Linvalas. This does not include any of the paypal fees or shipping.

Fine just for you I will do that and reduce my shipping price but I am going to have to charge you for all that tape big_smile ... JK LOL

Re: Selling Collection (Singles)

I'll do $13 shipped for the playset of duskmantle seers. I only need a 45 cent stamp + envelope for delivery, no need for a $2.50 delivery...

1.69 with delivery confirmation in a bubble mailer. Read the FAQ.

He's factoring in the cost of the mailer to the postage....although .86 cents for a top loader, sleeve, and mailer is pretty expensive.

I've had to pay extra postage several times when people have sent me cards like this. If it's over 1oz total (which happens when you have more than one top loader and roughly 5+ cards), it costs 66 cents + 20 cents for being non-machinable.

So, use 66 cent stamps when you send in envelope with a top loader, or it might either get kicked back to you, or the recipient could get that nice little slip asking for more money. Write "non-machinable" on both front and back too. That way you don't risk the machine shredding the envelope and the cards simply getting lost at the post office of origin. Add another 20 cents if it's over 1oz.
