I was trading a foil Deathrite with someone and I shipped the card in an envelope with a toploader and a lot of sleeves via USPS first class with a tracking number.

Around the time the package was scheduled for delivery the tracking said Out for Delivery and then "Forwarded" . And now for two month's the package has just been going to different post offices. It came back to mine in CA and then went back to New York.

As long as you've put tracking on it, that's about all that you can do. If the USPS is just bouncing it around, you might be able to ask that they simply put a stop on it and return it to you so that you could send it via UPS or another private courier. The better question is, did the other person send you cards and did they get to you (at which point things get more complicated).

Yep the other guy sent me the cards and we've been calling post offices for a while trying to find where this package is...

this happened to me once before because the other person put the wrong zip code on the pacakge so it kept bouncing around. Your best is to have the PO put a tracker trace on it. The next time its scanned, they can hold it and confirm the address on the package with the correct address you provide to the PO and just have routed accordingly.
