Is strict matching working as intended? The website gives me this description: "Choosing strict matching in the menu above will only show cards that exactly match the edition, condition and flags you set in your wishlist and tradelist", but when I choose strict matching, I often get the wrong editions and often initiate a bad trade because of this.

Working as intended. In the screenshot you posted, the blurred out editions on your cards means that you have actually not set an edition manually for the cards in your wishlist. This means you are willing to trade for any edition for those cards.
