A regular Plains would be better than that Shefet Dunes, unless I'm missing something. Especially if you're running anything that cares about Plains.
A worthy consideration. I believe the Shef Dunes can sac itself to give my creatures +1/+1, and really that was the only consideration for playing it. I hope I never find myself at 1 life needing to tap it for white mana...? I did add Armored Ascension to the deck over the weekend mostly because of the power/toughness boost, not because it gives flying. There's only 4 creatures in the deck that DON'T have flying, but the potential of 22 Plains.
Also, if you must have something like Rebuke in there, Immolating Glare is cheaper... though the artwork isn't as nice.
My condolences on the loss of Iona.
Indeed. I've always wanted to put her into a deck, and this seemed the perfect fit. Obviously with the release of M20 (can you believe you and I once opened a booster box of Tenth Edition!) there will be some new cards, especially Sephara. Maybe I can sell Iona to pay for Sephara?
Sephara appears to only be a couple dollars, so at least that won't be a problem.
