Cards in the scratchpad represent cards that you are considering for this deck, but are not actually in the built deck. They do not count towards the in built decks count shown in your inventory. If you are using the Auto Trade feature, they will be still be marked for trade although cards in your main deck and sideboard will not.

Notes

Voltron/infect deck.
Introduces equipment, legendaries, counters, regenerate, lifelink.

Tokens needed:
1/1 Black Insect
Poison
1/1 Green Snake w/ Deathtouch
------------------------------------------

In this deck the goal is to introduce equipment and multicolored decks. In a multicolored deck, the benefits of a colorless casting cost become more apparent to the new player. A Voltron style deck is often popular with new players, and seemed a good way to highlight equipment. The inefficiency of the equipment approach helps temper the power of this deck to better match the others in the set. For the same reason, pump spells (e.g. Larger Than Life ) are excluded to keep the deck in control. The deck plays differently from game to game, sometimes going wide because of synergy between infect and Nest of Scarabs and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons . Other times the player will sneak in infect damage without ever having much board control.

The Vector Asp is a little inferior to the Glistener Elf , and I like the elf artwork better, but it's price is prohibitive for the small difference. I included Golgari Rot Farm but it is arguably a little more complicated than Evolving Wilds for example; thematically however it fits well with this deck and is kept for that reason. Scarscale Ritual would be powerful in this deck, and I like how a downside of a card gets changed to an upside because of synergy, but the blue color is out of place. Whispering Specter is an interesting card, but is a little too complicated for this already complicated deck.

The price of many of the infect related cards in the original version of this deck went up prohibitively. I made the following changes: Grafted Exoskeleton replaced by Phyresis , Whispersilk Cloak replaced by Fireshrieker , and Contagion Clasp replaced by Channeler Initiate .

Rules To Learn
A player loses if they have 10 or more poison counters.
The legendary rule applies to Hapatra.

Art is subjective to personal taste. Here are my suggestions for artwork:
Ravnica version of Elves of Deep Shadow
Normal version of Putrefy
