Looking to get $45-50 in trade value based on the card's condition and the going rate on TCG player.

How did it get the whitening without being played?

I don't know. The white areas are foily, so I don't know if it has something to do with the printing process.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not too familiar with foil cards.

Nah, that's pretty normal with worn foil cards. The wear is shiny underneath.

The foil is the base of the card, with ink being on top. So if any of the image comes off it will leave a "metallic" looking area.

The image quality is pretty poor but I have seen foils get border wear simply by being sleeved and shifting around in a binder often, which may be the case here.
