A lot of the collector's edition prices are off. Sacrifice, for example is $400+, and the other versions are under $.50.

Coldsnap foil prices are missing...at least for snow-covered island, counterbalance, and a few others...I suspect the whole set.

Foil Ulasht, the Hate Seed is listed as $500. I'll sell it cheap!—or you can fix this price. ;)

I have a Maelstrom Wanderer in a deck from Planechase 2012. In the deck view, it lists the price as $40, which is closer to the price for the Commander version. In my Inventory window, it lists the price as $18 or so, which is basically the actual price selling elsewhere.

Yep, deck lists use generally the last printed 'core' edition or the last printed edition. They are not directly tied to your inventory in any way.

We do want to address this though, in the same release as 'inventory tagging'.

Does anyone know of a reliable source of card images or scans for all the World Championship gold bordered printings? (I'm referring to these: http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/World_Championship_Decks)

Check here, these are the guys that do a lot of the actual work to get HQ images uploaded and have easy methods of downloading them.

They definitely have tokens and most sets at a very nice resolution.

Richard Garfield, Ph.D. is labeled as having only one printing in Unhinged. This is technically true because of the foil edition, but the foil edition has no price attached. It's worth about $100.

Yeah, both Coldsnap and Unhinged are missing foil prices.

I noticed jumping prices for various cards.

Godless Shrine (Gatecrash) FOIL was $35 yesterday, now it's $ 46. It also was about $ 45 most of last week [TCGplayer price: $ 41]
Food Chain was $21 yesterday, now only $ 16 [TCGplayer price $18]

Now i know prices can change daily, but these jumping prices seem to be caused by the fact that nobody on Deckbox is currently selling them and that adjusts their value greatly. As you can see in the TCGplayer stats, prices of both cards are both quite steady for a longer period of time. These price changes of about 25% of their value on a daily basis are uncalled for.

Maybe you can also take an historical value into account when determining a newly daily price? Like, if yesterday the card would be $40 and the newly calculated price would be $ 30 (caused by the fact that there are no sellers on deckbox),you'll smooth the price changes or limit price changes of over 10% daily?

I guess your new price calculation is a mix of the deckbox seller prices, the amazon prices and tcgplayer, and you determine a price from the mix of these values. Maybe you can give the tcgplayer price a higher value in your calculated average?[/TCGplayer price $18][/TCGplayer price: $ 41]

It is indeed a bit too reliant on the fluctuations of current market listings, and should be based more on historical values.

I will tweak the formula.

All of the card prices for cards from the Modern Event Deck are showing up with Deckbox Average Prices above $50 each (example: Inquisition of Kozilek s/be $5 or less).

Not sure if you are already doing this, but we should be using the median price (price of the card in the middle of the array) rather than the mean (numeric average).

Do we have some sellers deliberately trying to skew Deckbox prices high?

EDIT: Correction - It's not ALL cards, but it is nearly all results when sorting on Price (High to Low). None of the cards in the $50+ range belong there.

Thanks for reporting, will be looking at the modern event decks prices today.

We also definitely plan to handle price manipulation. In the beginning we will just blacklist users that are way off the market price on various cards, so they do not count in general for price calculation purposes.

There might be a legitimate reason for some otherwise inexpensive cards to have high prices (e.g., misprints, alters, autographed cards). For future development, consider a special flag/field for such cards. That would allow people to search for those "special" cards, if desired, but would also allow them to be excluded from median (preferred) or average calculations.

When sellers go on vacation and their cards are not available to buy, their prices shouldn't show up on the card page. For example, Eidolon of the Great Revel shows a "buy it now" price of $1.16 based on two sellers who are on vacation. The cheapest price it can actually be bought at is $5.50 as of right now.
