You all have his address. Do something about it.

I've been researching this recently.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult to prove fraud with an isolated case.  The postal inspection service looks for patterns of fraud when evaluating cases.  I'm not saying one should not pursue such avenues, but am just noting that it might be hard to prove.

That said, each time a person reports a fraud involving a person/address, it helps establish the pattern that might eventually allow them to take action against someone.

I've recently made a change to how I ship.  I'm still using penny sleeves and toploaders, but rather than taping the toploaders shut, I put the toploader (or toploaders with a sandwich of sleeved cards between them) on a piece of paper, and then I wrap the toploader/sandwich with the paper, sealing the paper shut with a bit of tape.  That keeps the toploaders from getting gunked up with tape, and it also keeps any cards from coming into contact with tape adhesive (as when happens when they slide loose of their sleeves).  The weight is negligable, and it makes for a cleaner/easier trade for the recipient.

Cheers!

I do the toploader sandwich, but hadn't thought about the paper idea. I may just try that for future trades. It will allow the toploaders to be easily reused by future traders.

Being able to reuse toploaders has been a real boon.  A number of my regular partners have switched to the paper-wrap concept, and it has been great.  The cards can't slide around but you don't have to worry about tape residue or tape damate on the ends of cards in the "sandwich".

I already have my available commons/uncommons and those few extra bulk rares in card boxes, sorted by color, and sleeved as playsets/partial playsets (e.g. seven cards would come in two sleeves).  You just want me to put it all into a trade window???

I feel for you.  I have a trade in progress now with a trusted trader.  Per the post office, he received his cards two weeks ago (I have delivery confirmation info), but has not marked them received.  I've also not seen his cards.  Normally, our exchanges take a few days.  The most frustrating thing is the lack of communication (especially when you can see by their status that they have been online).

*UPDATE* My trading partner got in touch with me today, after I asked the folks at support@deckbox.org to review the situation.

Well, that's reasonable, but then Inventory needs another one column (and cards - another one property): Language, it can be important in some situations.

It's coming! As nice flag icon too tongue

You're making us drool, Sebi! Do you have a rough ETA in mind? Are we looking at year-end? End of first quarter 2013?

Between srrogers1985 and I, we should be able to set you up.  Just let us know what you have in mind.  I have boatloads of commons, uncommons, and even some cheap rares from past couple of years.

The only other one that immediately comes to mind is Wolfir Avenger.  A three drop (requires 2G) 3/3 creature with flash that you can regenerate. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find, either (I have a full playset available for trade).

With your ramp, you will soon have enough mana to both cast and regenerate during the same turn, if necessary.

It costs one more, but I like Predator Ooze over Gatecreeper Vine.  It is, after all, indestructible, and if you get a chance to swing with it a few times (or block a few weenies), it gets bigger.

Didn't get to try it at FNM--was driving back from Bismarck to Fargo, and the freezing rain kept me from getting back in time.

I'm going to rename it Lil' ChaLili.  I'm going to play test it with the newer configuration tonight.

UPDATE: I'll need one more Desecration Demon.  Feel free to shoot me a configuration if you have one.

This topic (or variants of it) has been brought up in a number of threads.  While the ultimate decision regarding enhancements rests with the site admins, some have suggested that the ability to add or search by the card number would fit the need without unnecessarily complicating the interface.

Example:
Treacherous Pit-Dweller in the Avacyn Restored block is card 121 of 244 regardless of the language of the printing.

There is a thread on coming enhancements, and there will be an improved interface for better tracking of multiple versions of a card.  Not sure how language versions will be handled there, but I think we'll all love the improvements.

I've been toying with a similar deck.  In order to get those other colors of mana, you should  run as many dual lands as you can.  Personally, I'd ditch the Guildgate--they are great on T1, but having them come in tapped is a real pain.  Cavern of Souls is expensive, but if you name Angel, you can tap for one of any color mana when you are playing an Angel, with the added benefit of being counter-proof.

If you are focusing around white-blue, work to get every dual that has either blue or white, even if you only have one or two copies among them all right now: (Glacial Fortress and/or Hallowed Fountain), blue-red (Sulfur Falls and/or Steam Vents), white-red (Clifftop Retreat), white-green (Sunpetal Grove and/or Temple Garden), and blue-green (Hinterland Harbor).  You might not have all of them, but substitute in those that you can as you acquire them.

Other alternatives for splashing color would be Shimmering Grotto and Transguild Promenade.

I appreciate the feedback.  I'll make some of those changes as soon as I get home.  For this Friday, if I get a chance to play (weather and a three-hour drive might prevent it), I'm going to run it as-is.

No problems bumping the old thread. The method you may use at this time is the one noted in NullParameter's post.  On that main inventory window, those numeric columns on the left are (in order): Inventory, Tradelist, Wishlist, and Quantity in Decks.

You can open the inventory window, sort by any parameter you like (I typically sort by quantity when modifying my Tradelist), and then can click into the Tradelist column, allowing you to edit the number that appears there.  So, basically, click> type > click > type, etc.

I'm traveling for work this week, and plan to try a new deck at FNM in the place I'll be on Friday (with the snow storm that's forecast, I might be there for Saturday Magic, too!).  I ended up with a Rakdos deck with Chandra and Liliana (thus the ChaLili name).  In a few test games at home before I left, it did pretty well.  I'll appreciate any and all feedback you can provide.

ChaLili

I agree with srrogers1985 on the gates.

My only concern is the pace of play.  You will really need more ramp--your mana curve looks like you won't get rolling for a number of turns.  Consider adding Avacyn's Pilgrim as a one-drop white mana source creature.

Have you been able to leave feedback for other trades? What browser are you using. Some IE users have experienced some problems with a number of site features. Have you tried another browser?

If that does not clear it up, send an email to support@deckbox.org with your screen name and a link to the trade in question.

I was wondering if tampering might be at play, simply because it was two packs from the same store.  The difficult thing about these is that they are the boosters that sit in the cardboard jackets.  That tips the likelihood toward it being some sort of packaging error at the factory.

I did keep the packaging, and I did reach out via WotC's support page.

I've opened a lot of boosters in the past year.  Until today, I don't ever remember having a booster that didn't have a rare or mythic.  Yet today I got two from the same retail location that had no rares or mythics. One had 11 commons, two (2) uncommons, one land, and one token. The other had 10 commons, three (3) uncommons, one land, and one token.  No foils in either pack.

Both packs tore open far easier than any other pack I've ever had.

Is it just a fluke? Have you hand any like that?

Just so I understand correctly, the general consensus is that the policy is that the sender is responsible even for the lost mail of the trade even if DC and tracking was used?

If delivery confirmation is used, and the post office reports that the package has been delivered, the sender has clean hands.  As I understand it, having that confirmation of delivery (the actual notes listing the date and time of delivery, not just a delivery confirmation number) is enough to prove that the sender did what was required--get the package to the target address. It requires, however, that the package be delivered to the listed address.  If it never arrives, the sender has reason for a claim against the post office (if insurance was purchased).  Simply purchasing delivery confirmation does not guarantee delivery.  For guaranteed delivery, one would need to use premium shipping services, like those available from FedEx, UPS, or some premium USPS offerings.

The "official" answer would be that delivery confirmation is not enough to prove that a package has been shipped or shipped to the correct person...

Actually, delivery confirmation would be enough.  Both parties must confirm their respective delivery addresses.  A postal record confirming delivery to the agreed address, shown both in the trade record and on the delivery confirmation receipt, is considered proof that the delivery was made to that address.  If someone steals the package between the point of delivery and when the recipient picks it up, the sender technically has clean hands because s/he was responsible to prove delivery to the agreed address.

Within the MTG forums, one member has been putting together an iPhone app that will offer a streamlined mobile interface for Deckbox.org.  Personally, I don't have any sort of iDevice, so I'm wondering what kinds of platforms are in use out there.  If you have a mobile device and would love the idea of using Deckbox on it, please respond using the polling buttons.

Note: This is being asked out of curiosity. There is no official plan to make Deckbox mobile-enabled, other than efforts by individual members.  The curiosity expressed is mine alone, and does not reflect the opinions or interests of Sebi, Laura, or any of the other powers-that-be with with most beloved site.  :-)

I'll let the poll run for the next three months.  You may change your response at any time, since I know some of you change your devices like others of us change our clothes. ;-)

I, for one, don't have an iDevice.  I think I'll post a poll asking people to identify what phone/device OS they use.

There have been a few discussions lately about posting links to one's own Profile, Wishlist, and Tradelist in each user's signature.  Would it be possible to place links to those locations (at the main Deckbox.org site) in the information pane about each user that appears with each post and reply?

For example:

[User name]
[Member status]
[Online status]
[other details]
[Profile Link]
[Wishlist Link]
[Tradelist Link]

Not something for the pending release, but something to consider moving forward.
