It may not be a be-all, end-all solution, but I think it's at least a step in the right direction...

Look, I completely understand where you are coming from. I've had to deal with this plenty of times myself in my time in mtg. TCGPlayer and SCG, the two biggest mtg retailers in the US (and probably the world, idk) use the NM, LP, MP, HP, Damaged scale. I would say it's probably a good idea to use the same.

I disagree with your proposed solution of changing the names of the conditions as it doesn't actually solve anything because they can be ambiguous. Everybody grades their cards differently. That is one of the bigger problems involved in trading card games." You can change the names of the conditions all you want, but people will keep grading their cards poorly (or not at all). The problem is that the conditions don't have extremely clear-cut definitions. I think Blackborder has a pretty good condition guide, but even that isn't good enough for 99% accuracy. There are an infinite number of possible imperfections a card could have and it just isn't reasonable to create a grading system that clearly defines all the grades and that everybody is expected to use for every single one of their cards.

If condition is an issue for you, ask. Pictures will be much more helpful than a simple grade.

When people ask me about card condition I either take pictures if the card(s) are worth the time or I add + and - to the current grading scale to add more definition.

I value it around $1400 trade value.

Goyf is the best eternal format clock there is aside from Delver. Sorry, some folks don't like playing shitty budget decks.

I didn't say anything about playability or budget. I was talking about having fun. Anyhoo, sorry to OP for the off-topic post. I won't post on your thread again.

Where did you notice this happening? Trade names on the top of the trade page?

Yes

Er, not ON the trade page. On the Chrome tab for example.

As I said in one of my previous posts, perhaps there should be an option to specify non-foil for cards on your wishlist. I still think the default should be a "don't care" though.

Hey Sebi, I'm wondering if it would be possible to add a language filter for card sets. It would be really helpful to be able to sort out english or non-english cards from tradelists and such.

Also, I noticed another bug with adding up the total value of trades. If you have one copy of a card on your wishlist and another user has multiple different types of that card, all of their values are added to the value of cards you want from them. It should only add the cheapest n, where n is how many you want.

I posted this as a new thread sometime last week. Hopefully Sebi sees one of these two.

Just noticed that this only happens when viewing Compatible Sellers. When I switched to All Sellers the duplicate listings went away.

What do you value them at?

Depends on the card. Riku was one of the easier ones since I didn't feel the need to do an extension over the border. Maybe $8 trade value?

The more difficult ones like Tariel I would value closer to $15.

Bump. Added a bunch of modern RDW to my wishlist.

I have a sealed Event deck and plenty of other stuff to make up the difference. Mostly just interested in the Goblin Guides and the Eidolon.

Bump

I'm not sure exactly what this is called. It's the little chat bubble which is displayed next to trades in which there is a message that hasn't been viewed.

I think it would be reasonable to display the chat bubble thingy on the individual trade pages themselves in addition to the present location on the trades list page. That way we can know if our trade partner has seen our most recent message(s) without having to go to their trades list page.

Thoughts?

It's still there.

In fact, I personally show up 3 times on the pages of cards I'm selling.

MTG Altered Cards and Artwork FB Group  Feedback doc for the artists
Plenty of really good artists in that group. Plenty of different styles as well.

The bigger names are:
Bigup
Brandon Brown
Tila Tola
Sandreline

Edit: I didn't think Eric Klug needed to be mentioned as everybody should know about him. tongue

I work in New Brighton, is that anywhere near you?

I'm in Minnetonka and I have both and possibly an extra Watery Grave if the trade is right. I'm unlikely to be going to the 5k, but I can get them sent out today.
