In most (all that I've seen, but I guess there could be exceptions) a tie is better than a loss. Generally going 2-1-1 will get a prize (or a better prize, depending on the LGS) while 2-2 will not and 3-0-1 will have a better prize than 3-1. Just my experience.

Well, I'm speaking in more of a "pride" term. Yes, in that case it's better but kind of embarrassing in my opinion.

Well, since the 11 damage gets reflected back to you, the other person would win. Also yes, ties exist and in my opinion are worse than losing. But that's just me big_smile

Not when I started playing, but when my sister was playing she said she would pick up wastelands for ~$1. She also said people literally gave force of wills away/threw them away. All the d'oh in the world from those people.

If I were one of those people, I would probably shat myself. Emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Wow, now that is, just, wow! Another card that came to mind, what did Bob cost at firs?

Okay, so I was thinking lately about Blood Baron of Vizkopa and it's recent decline in price due to people barely running it in any other non-standard deck. I thought about splashing black in mono-white Soul Sisters for that and Sin Collector in the sideboard.

Main Deck
4 Godless Shrine
4 Horizon Canopy
3 Marsh Flats
7 Plains
2 Swamp
4 Windbrisk Heights
2 Brave the Elements
4 Path to Exile
4 Serra Ascendant
4 Soul Warden
4 Soul's Attendant
4 Ajani's Pridemate
4 Spectral Procession
4 Ranger of Eos
3 Archangel of Thune
3 Blood Baron of Vizkopa

Sideboard
1 Brave the Elements
3 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Kor Firewalker
3 Suppression Field
2 Oblivion Ring
4 Sin Collector

Thoughts?

I no longer have Fleecemane, but I still have Sidisi. Please take that!

The best cards in standard (price-wise) I have are Fleecemane Lion and Sidisi (I don't collect standard format cards that much, or anymore). I want to only do modern and legacy for future trades, so I'm trading away anything standard-related.

Tradelist: https://deckbox.org/sets/270369?s=j&o=d

I have no wishlist because there is nothing I desperately need. So just about any trade is acceptable smile

I started playing right around the end of Worldwake into Rise of the Eldrazi. At the time most of the Eldrazi gods were pretty cheap (5-10 bucks) because they weren't good in standard and aside from Emrkul seeming a little play in legacy, they weren't wanted much cause EDH was fairly new format.

One of my more proud moments looking back was trading in my highly regarded Baneslayer Angel, Ajani Goldmane and 5 dollars for a Jace, the Mindsculptor into my store.

Also, I use mtgstocks.com a lot cause it's fun to see a graph of how prices of cards have changed.

Wow, that just makes me want to build a time machine to go back and buy a 5 dollar Eldrazi

I don't know about eldrazi, but this was a pretty funny link from 94.  Back in the day, your only source for prices was a magazine called Scrye that came out every month.

Wow, the dual lands were lower than the current shock lands. I never thought I would see that coming. Thanks for the link big_smile

Well, I started Magic when Return to Ravnica came out (wow, two years went by fast) and I always think about what the prices for cards such as the Eldrazi, the power 9, and countless other awesome cards costed when they first came out or when they were legal in standard. Can anyone help me out on this journey of knowledge since I can never find the answer anywhere else?

Okay, I am done building my decks, but I would still love to make some trades. Almost any trade is good for me big_smile

I also just received a new Sedisi if anyone's interested.
