Id have to agree to hatter. I think as it stand its alittle over hyped right now and even if you compare it to the price of the other Gods, Foil Thassa (most played) is only 30 and Foil Xenagos (most expensive) is 35 so somewhere in between is where you can expect him to land around. I think anyway...Congrats on the pull tho!

Id be interested In atheros and the foil astral Cornacopia

To be honest either option is fine, it just depends on what your actually looking for. Once it rotates out of standard and RTR is no longer in print (which I think is true right now) it will only climb from where it is now after an initial drop and could follow a similiar path of Noble Heirarch or Stoneforge Mystic.

I have 2 temples of Silences Id trade for a Shrine

I saw your post title and thought for second that March for Babies was a card haha...

The reactions and egress of some were and are unavoidable.  Much like every sport team, there are observers, casual fans, committed fans, and fanatics.  In good times everybody is a fan of the team and goes to games (creating a spike), in bad times there is a lull.  While observers are appreciated and often most vocal when things go bad (in a negative way) they are always the first to leave and the last to join.  They are around for the fame but once you've gone from grace, gotten old, and are sick suddenly they never answer the phone when you need help.  (This is not a bad thing, it just is.  Everybody has done this before and will do it again.  I do not deride anybody for feeling or being this way.)  Things on deckbox will not be as quick and easy as before.  I, however, believe in the 'team' and am able to ride out this month long wait.  I will also still conduct trading do to my belief in the 'team'.

I cant help but feel as though your sports analogy also speaks to us true Buffalo Sabres fans as well...

A bit off topic revenue wise, but a few suggestions in addition to selling:

*Subscription service - Add some additional functionality for like a dollar a month.
*Donations - Put paypal donate button on my profile page. I would be happy to support deckbox, but I don't see the option.

I would like to say that I have fully appreciated every little detail that the deckbox team has put into this site, all for free.  For now yes, it seems that the prices are not working, but I have full confidence that the deckbox team will get it up and running as quickly as possible.  There are a couple of points that I fully agree with that people are making as well.

1.  Tjdrake and others have suggested several options to help you through this funk while the revenue stream is low.  No, they would not sustain the website, but I think it would provide some relief for your team while you are working on the new pricing.
2.  Several people mentioned using mtgprice as a good price reference, I agree, I have been using their site for quite some time and they are quite good.
3.  As much as it pains me to say, I think the market function should be put on hold until the pricing can be figured out, but I would not get rid of it.  Not only is it a revenue stream for the deckbox team, it is an excellent addition to deckbox for anyone selling/buying and doesn't harm the people who don't use it.
4.  Please Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help, aside from donating 1 billion dollars (sorry I do not have)

I have full confidence in you Sebi and team, keep up the good work!

Cheers!
Byron (gnp)

I whole heartedly agree to this.

@Jassi007 - I wont disagree that the choice of Amazon was not the best but in retrospect, it was probably the most reputable source Sebi could have gone with TCG no longer an option and on such short notice. To be fair, TCG could have done this at anytime, granted the market place could have pushed the situation to what it is now, but its a process of transition that would have had to take place eventually anyway.

No, a valid reaction is " Im going to hold off trading/selling for the moment until this gets fixed to an acceptable level". Saying the site is "nearly unusable" is overreactive to the everything else deckbox does that those MANY other forums do not.

Website is nearly unusable as is...

This is the most overreactive statement Ive seen. The fact that all your cards and decks are still listed and stored in once place means nothing? Trading didnt stop. Is it really that much extra work to have an extra browser window open next to deckbox to TCG or SCG or ebay or mtgprice or wherever to do a quick search of the current price of a card? Sure this is an extra step in the process but honestly, if you are that concerned about having the most current price of a card when completing a trade/sale, this should be something done regardless if a price generated automatically or an idea in your head on how much its worth.

Im honestly shocked by the amount of negativity and the lack of patience some people have.

This particular forum is different from other group forums. Instead of it being its own seperate entity (similiar to how the Trading forum and the reddit trading group forum are 2 different forums) this forum is the main selling and buying forum and joining the group will now will allow your profile to have the notfication bubble next to the "MTG Market" on your profile to show when new posts are added.

The Forum is now open!

Your store policies should include things like how you package and ship your cards (ie use of tracking automatic on certain number of cards purchased or combined shipping on seperate orders), how long it will take you to process an order once payment clears, how long your willing to wait for payment before you cancel the order or move to dispute and return / refund policies. Pretty much anything you want to the buyer to consider and be aware of when the purchase from you.

As for the min amount purchase, Im not sure if there is an actual feature that can be set but that is something your should be sure to disclose as a "store policy" like the examples above.

I share these exact same sentiments. Compared to the age of MTG Im a relative newbie but I was fortunate enough to start before modern and see the figurative "change of guard" when comes to Modern taking over for Legacy. The article is correct that this is not overnight take over. In fact its probably not a next 2 year take over, but when consider how much MTG has grown popularity in just the last 3 years since Modern's inception and the declining supply of Legacy staples, it only stands to reason that that there are more pople willing to settle for playing Modern, where the cards are far easier to aquire play with.

Thanks for your reply, but I have to say this rule will discourage people from selling expensive cards here. A very simple solution to the returns problem is to make the buyer responsible for them. Buyer must pay shipping and provide proof of delivery, refund will only be given when cards are returned,  no fees taken. Making buyers responsible for returns will discourage frivolous returns. These rules would also be in line with every other mtg site, trading, vending, etc out there.

One more question: what will the deckbox marketplace do that no other site does? How will it be better for sellers than Motl, mtgsalvation, facebook, eBay, tcgplayer? I'm still paying 10% fees, is there any incentive to selling here other than saving 3%?

To be fair, your last question will be one that only time and actual involvement will tell. Sure, if you compare this selling feature to  those other sites that are already established in that front, its going to be hard to argue to pick the new when you have the old.

Also all those sites you listed (aside from TCG) do not have the interface that deckbox does nor the complete functionality of being able to manage your entire collection, build decks, trade and now sell all in one place. I understand your question was in regards to selling but my point is for some this will complete the package of having everything and doing everything on one site opposed to many.

Kinda along the same lines as Ducky, but every now then when the wife and I would go to Target (or Wal-Mart) we pick up and 3 packs and do a "pack war" to see who opened the 3rd. Now mind you when I say "pack war" its where we open the pack, throwout the token and land, shuffle them up and then each of us flips over the top card. Highest Converted Mana Cost win the round. Who ever has has the bigger pile wins the war. (I tried teaching her how to actually play magic and this was closest I think were gonna ever get to her and I playing it the right way.) So we buy 3 RTR packs and go home. We start the "war" and start flipping the cards and she takes a commanding lead, her rare being Nercopolis Regent and mine being Palisade Giant so no win there and Ive given up hope...

Until I flip the last card in the pack...

Foil Deathrite Shaman...

She may have won this battle but I won the WAR smile

And now introducing the new feature of Deckbox...See here (http://deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=19133)

Forum opening soon to follow.

I second TRZ's suggestions. I would also considering throwing in a Lightning Bolt or 2 as a means to get the final damage in if you cant get your storm count high enough or deal with a "Problem" creature...Looking at you THALIA...
