Sign up for the event to be counted for the draw!!

Thanks for the suggestions everybody.  If you signup for the event then I'll consider you an active member regardless of what your trade status is.

BTW I moved the draw date to the Gatecrash release date of Feb 1.  Check back at 9pm PST.

Yes for sure I will and hopefully they'll send some pics too!

So this means I'm going to draw a member's name for a Gatecrash booster box.  Excited?  Well you deserve it.

I figure there are two ways of doing this.

1) I draw a random member from the membership list and ship the box to them
2) I post an event to everybody and as long as you've signed up (thus showing your an active memeber) you get an entry.
3) I filter out members who have never traded before or have empty accounts.  Then draw from the list of members who have active accounts.

The point being that i want to weed out anyone who has an empty account or has never traded on Canadain traders before.

The draw will take place on the release date for Gatecrash on Feb 1, 2013.

What do you guys think is fair?

Congrats to this community, we are now # 2 on deckbox.  I will be drawing a winner for the booster box this weekend.

At the rate we are getting new members I think we'll be #2 in Feb.  So it might have to be a box of Gatecrash.

Hey guys,

We are slowing moving towards me sending somebody a box of Return to Ravnica.  We are just about half way there to being the second largest group on deckbox.  Please pass the word around to anyone else you know on deckbox who would be interested in joining and trading in Canada.

  • 1 M13 or RTR booster box when we rank #2 on the Deckbox Communities page.

Deckbox communities page: http://deckbox.org/communities. Canadain Traders Page (click join on the top right): http://deckbox.org/communities/canadian_traders. You don't have to be Canadian to win but I'm only sending them to a Canadian based address. Sorry to anyone else.

Willing to trade or buy.  Must have photographic proof.

Ok so if your going to do that then go big or go home.  Might as well make 1 million fake accounts and make the reddit group look like a book club.

Again, this is a case of communication failure. Please handle these issues outside of the public board, and keep these matters between the participants of the trade.

Why shouldn't he be able to warn people about someone who doesn't send his trades?

This is one of Deckbox's many flaws.  No way to ban usernames from your tradable users list, no way to report users except when a trade is complete or you cancel the trade.

Let's talk after I open my Commander Arsenal!

Ok so we only need another 100 or so members and I'll be sending somebody a box of boosters.  If you haven't already invited friends please do so.

RazzyKitty (http://deckbox.org/users/RazzyKitty) won the Ajani, Caller of the Pride.  Congrats and thanks everybody for helping to get Canadian Traders onto the first page of the Communities Page.

Now if we can get another 120 people, I'll be sending out a box of RTR or M13!  Start inviting your friends!!

Here's the trade for the official record
http://deckbox.org/trades/22358?s=19006

EDIT: for the record, I used a random number generator to pick a number (23) and then counted names that signed up from the beginning, so RazzyKitty was the 23rd person to sign up.  Any coincidence that she has "Kitty" in her name is pure luck and proof that the universe has a strange sense of humor.

Well we've done it!  We're on the first page of the Deckbox Communities.  I'll draw for the Ajani and let you guys know shortly.

Now if we can get to be #2 on this page I can give away a box.

I have adjusted the contest for the M13 or RTR box to be awarded when we rank #2 on the communities page. I realize that as we gain memberships, people will also join the Reddit community and therefore make it almost imposible for us to reach that goal.

Right now we can rank second if we have over 155 members.  So pass the word out. We are also very close to the Ajani give away.  He's burning a hole in my binder so let's get some more people to join!

Originally it was if we made 1st page was it not?

This is for the M13 or RTR box. Ajani will still be given away when we make page 1. That has not changed.

Sorry, when Canadian Traders has the largest # of members on the Deckbox communities, I'll draw a random name for a M13 or RTR box.  I edited the first post with the Canadian Traders main page.

No invitation required.  Go to the communities page, choose our group and click the JOIN button on the top right!  Good to have you!

Thanks, please do!  Also try to get them to at least post their traders and wishlists!

Hey guys,

Welcome to Canadian Traders.  I started this group because I was tired of waiting for my trades at the Canadian and US border.  Recently I traded with a Reddit memeber in US, Greensboro and it took over a month to recieve their cards. (http://deckbox.org/trades/15751?s=14432) By the time I got the cards most of them were useless to me as I obtained them from other sources.  This experience soured me on Deckbox so I thought to give it another chance.

We have been growing steadily and this is great.  I'm glad other fellow Canadians can post their collections here and make some profitable trades without postal nightmares to the US.

So to promote memebership I'm going to put my money where my mouth is.  I will give away 1 Ajani, Caller of the Pride to a random lucky Canadian Trader when we are listed on Page 1 of the Deckbox Communities page (at least 34 people as of this writing) and 1 M13 (or RTR which ever is the latest set a the time) booster box if we rank the second most populated community on Deckbox!

Everyday I see tons of Canadians signing up to Deckbox so one thing you could do is send them an invite to the group with a personal message from yourself and offering help on these forums if they need it with the site.

Let's go Canada.  I want to give these things away!

  • 1 "Ajani, Caller of the Pride" to a random member when we are on page 1 of the Deckbox Communities.

  • 1 M13 or RTR booster box when we rank #2 on the Deckbox Communities page.

EDIT: You don't have to be Canadian to win but I'm only sending them to a Canadian based address. Sorry to anyone else.

EDIT: Changed Box win condition to second on the list.

My favorite to play at is Craving for a Game in Surrey, BC but I like to buy my singles and trade with Bastion Games.  Actually I like to do pre-releases there too.  The guy is honest and the gamers are high quality.  That said Buck at Craving for a Game is a very good guy and has been good to all my work colleagues playing at lunch.

Post your LGS favorites here!

Hey, post your traders on Deckbox at least so that we can see whats available.  Also the more people we get the more useful this community will be so invite any other Canadains you know!

Thanks, Paul
