Hey Steven, what's the trade value you got on that FF Prerelease kit?

Heya, Kyle!
I'm going by TCG, so at the time of this message, $80.
The pricing metrics on this set are f'n insane.

Welcoming Daniel Abt to the group (An invite that should have been sent ages ago, but I somehow missed him in the original listing).

My biggest issue with FF has always been that most of them are turn based  and a vast majority of turn based games don't click with me, with the exception of Pokémon. I'm more action-RPG oriented, so Skyrim, Darksiders, Kingdoms of Amalur, etc.

However, I think Xbox has access to all the FF games now, along with getting 7 Remake this winter, so I may have to check them out if they go on sale.

You might like XVI. It's very action orientated, and takes a sharp turn from the turn-based combat of earlier FF's. For me it's a drawback (I prefer Turn-based), but the story and characters are so good I'm going to finish it.

IV is considered one of the better mainline titles due to its cast of characters. I won’t spoil anything for you, but he’s set up to be a fearsome villain and morphs into a tragic character by the end. Early-era FF managed to do a lot with the hardware limitations at the time. It’s definitely worth a playthrough, especially if you have access to the Pixel Remaster collection.

This.
IV was the first FF I played when it was released (Yea, I'm old), and legitimately has some of the best storytelling I've ever seen, then and now.
Golbez is a major character, and definitely one that's bound to hold value. The card itself is decent as well, so even in MTG circles, it'll hold value. I'd hold it for now - as previously stated, all of these main characters are rising.

Just an FYI, Make sure you check your Local Targets. I stopped by one on my way home from hockey and this one had restocked the bundles @ 70 and Collector Boosters @ 44.99! It was limit 2 per customer so I only grabbed what I could. Im glad I did tho bc I pulled 450 worth of cards from them thanks to the Surge Foil Yuna, Grand Summoner in the one, that I think someone said they wanted wink

Very nice. I pulled my Traveling Chocobo from a spare I bought from a friend, but local stores are already picked clean here in MA.
Hella jealous of that Yuna.

Just an FYI, everyone - noticed this today, and while I've already messaged Sebi about it, thought I'd share as I thought it might be slowing up some trades:

I just noticed that (Specifically for Final Fantasy), wish- and want-lists aren't synching across profiles. For example, I have a Traveling Chocobo and a Summon:Bahamut on my tradelist. While looking at the want list of a fellow trader, I noticed that they had these two cards listed, without designated variants, but that they weren't showing up in the 'cards X Trader needs from you ' on the trade profile page. This is also causing inconsistency when using the 'Trading Opportunities' option in the left menubar.

So if there's something specific you're looking for, it might not hurt to actually take a look at the tradelists of traders you're interacting with, if you don't have a space like this one to ask them directly.

Do we know when Prerelease promos will be added to the site?

Coding is usually updated within a couple of weeks after release. Shouldn't be too long.

If anyone happens to get one of the play promos (Commander Party, Standard Showdown, or Store Championship) and they don’t want them, I’m looking to get one of each and am happy to work out a trade smile

I've reached out to a buddy of mine who got a few extras - I'll let you know.

---

Updated my tradelist to include a couple of my higher value cards (Expeditions, masterpieces, etc.) and still desperately seeking Terra, if anyone's come across one.
Also have an unopened prerelease kit for trade, if anyone's interested.

hey @sightburner, what are you valuing that surge foil pheonix down at?

That's a great question - I'm seeign everything from $3 to $86, depending on where you look. Let's give it the week to calm TF down, and I'll let you know. But I'll hold it for you.

SengirHellLord wrote:

Are those normal frame surge foils like Phoenix Down also in CB’s?

You know Wizards would never do that when they can make more $$ forcing you to buy other products ;-)
They are not. I just grabbed the Terra one for some of the flavor reprints I wanted in those foils.

It seems Waltz is going to be hard to find as Extended foil, TCG has 0 listings as of a bit ago.

Appreciate that! I did pull a nonfoil Waltz in extended art, but I've yet to see a foil in person - and I watched a total of 5 boxes opened in person.
I'll keep an eye out!

All pulls posted, and wishlist updated.
I did get the majority of my $$ back in prerelease pricing, which is nice - including a foil yellow chocobo (Only available for trade for Terra).
Otherwise, hit me up if you see anything you need, and we'll work something out if we can. Be well, all!

Congratulations, both of you!

I've opened 2 boxes thus far, and still haven't hit my two chases (Sad face), so FTR, anyone pulls those cards, you get priority.
No chocobos (Though a friend of mine pulled a neon yellow, she wasn't willing to part with it)
I'll finish adding the rest of those boxes today; 3rd box will be in and uploaded tomorrow.

For those of you getting Collector Boosters, I am particularly looking for an Extended Art Foil Black Waltz No. 3

I'll watch for one for you.
In the same vein, my 2 major chase cards are Terra, Magical Adept (323 Foil), and Summon: Bahamut (356 Foil).
If I don't pull them, and anyone else does and is willing to part with them, I will 100% work to make a trade happen.

Everyone else, if you don't pull your chases, LMK, and I'll watch for them.
I am now at a total of 5 boxes between play groups, so hopefully decent odds to meet requests.

Losses based on $700 box cost, value earned at pre-release prices...  Woof.

TBF...I'm not going into this expecting to break even. Prerelease prices are always bloated, and the boxes themselves are exorbitant. If I hadn't caught them when I did, I wouldn't be shelling out current pricing for them. But yea, agreed...hopefully everyone get what they want from them, at least.

Good catch - but the only other one I'm aware of is the black one, at 551 (No designator). Might fill that 'e' slot, but odd they wouldn't include it on the card.

Sadly, no one's following MSRP for this at this point - it's like it doesn't even exist.
I was lucky to lock in my boxes before things skyrocketed, but inquiring with my favorite LGS, even they've upped their prices over $700.

F'n insane. But I'll hit you up if I see anything.

Heya, Sebi

Seeing a new issue where searching for a card opens a new window, every time.
This is something new; I tend to upload in bulk, and having 30+ windows open is definitely not the norm.

Didn't notice this when uploading last week, so I'm thinking it's something new.
Hoping this wasn't intentional?

Major red flag, IMO. I will blatantly refuse to trade with anyone who's unwilling to give all the proper information.
See the only time I've had to report someone in ten years: Michael343i4u34u (or whatever numbers were after his name).

So long as you hold to the 'they send first' protocol, you're safe, but I'd definitely steer clear, personally.
