Play a heavy permission based ub deck with that being one of your draw engines. My friend blow up my draw engines on sight.

I have a few arenas in a casual deck of mine with Phyrexian Unlife, Melira, Sylvok Outcast, and Soul Conduit, along with a bunch of other cards that make me take damage. It may not be that good, but man I love the reactions I get out of people playing against it for the first time.

Worse than Necro? I'd agree with that, but only because Necro is so incredibly powerful.

Any card that lets you draw an extra card each turn, for the measly price of only one life, is good.
