I think it'd be awesome if we could add a feature where cards could be "on hold". Sometimes, I buy cards on stores or trade via FB groups. I'd like to be able to get these cards off my wantlist while the cards are in transit, without just completely removing them until I get them. They would still be on my wantlist, but wouldnt appear in the trading opportunities. Fellow traders could also see that I need the card, but that I most likely already traded for it or just dont see the "incoming cards" at all.

Unfortunately, you cannot tag anything that isn't actively in your inventory.

I think adding tags to outbound trades and wants makes sense. If someone fulfills a want it would inherit the tags when you add it to inventory.

What OP is asking for would be like having different classes of wants. You would have to have active and inactive for this to work. Another good idea, however, like tagging cards you don't have, implementation might be challenging.
