Can't see why not. Units don't have to have power icons to attack.

in general, yes you can, iirc some nasty trickeration can be produced this way.
This particular combo, however, is no good.
Lil' Spawny does not = a Dark Elf unit, so not an eligible target for the whip.

it has come up, because i had that opportunity on hand in the "statistics mode" and thought about it

so in retrospect still nice to see how blind one can get, staring 24/7 at the cards ;)

I love building up a bunch of 0/1 token creatures (and repeatedly attacking with them) which puts counters on Beastmaster Ascension. All of a sudden those 0/1's become 5/6's.
