Thoughts on foil decks?

I'm currently working on foiling out my Modern deck, which is 4-color Kiki-Pod. I have everything but the Misty Rainforests, two Voices, and two Domri Rades.

It's taken me quite some time to get it to this point. Especially with a very limited budget. Most cards have been obtained through trade, which has basically eliminated all of my excess inventory.

I was curious as to what the general consensus was on foil decks. The reaction to the deck at my LGS is fairly mixed. Some people appreciate the cards and ask to check out some cool foils that I have, others flick me s*** and assume that I dropped over $1,000 on foils.

What are your general reactions to foils? Am I an elitist douche bag or just a magic collector?
