Expanding "local" trading?

Is there a way to expand your "local" area?  Right now it seems limited to only the town of my address - but I'd like to check for users in the nearby DC area...

It looks like I can switch my "location" and go town by town... Better than nothing, but still lot of work for what one might expect to be a simple search.
