I don't get it.  Is it valued at 40 in trade, or is it valued at 40 in trade?

Ah yes, sorry for the confusion there. So, if you were to try to trade it from me, for other cards, then the value that I would require of you would need to be at or around $40.

In other words, the playmat has a perceived worth, perceived by me, at $40.

It's similar to me saying that I value it at $50. The big difference is, in this case, it's actually $40.

Imagine...imagine a world where you could purchase a house for $40. In that world, my playmat would be equal to a house. So, I would trade the playmat, you would trade a house, or the equivalent in cards that I need.

You could buy a house for 40 dollars in Ethiopia, so is the world we are imagining Earth?  Or just Africa?   Some guy was looking to trade for Camels in a different thread, maybe 40 dollars worth.  It's like saying he wants 50 dollars worth in trade, but in this case, he may want to trade at 40 dollars.  He just likes Camels is the important thing I think to take away from this.
