Tips to Bring More Trades Your Way!

  • Keep your Tradelist / Wishlist updated; more trades opened will be trades completed!

  • If you are willing to trade from your Inventory, say so! Feel free to state special conditions when trading from Inventory.

  • Use the 'Trading Opportunities' stream on your profile page to see users in your communities who have what you want, or want what you have!

  • Careful to not over-saturate your Tradelist / Wishlist, it will be hard for others to see the diamonds in the rough!

  • If you must have an extensive list of wanted / trade cards, try creating deck lists to hold these, while saving your Wishlist for more important and specific cards, and your Tradelist for staples and higher value cards. Make sure to point to alternate lists in your profile!

Tips for a Better Trade Experience

  • Make sure you know the condition of the card(s) you are receiving, and any other information important to you, before finalizing the trade. Pay it forward and input complete information for your Tradelist cards!

  • Check user feedback. If none, request that person to send first. If you have no feedback, find someone with a good trading record, offer to send first and request that they leave feedback (it's your job to make sure it's positive!).

  • Use common sense when meeting in person; it is unlikely you will encounter a problem or dangerous situation, but don't be stupid. Avoid suspicious/isolated locations, do not carry excessive money / valued items if you do not feel comfortable doing so, bring a buddy, have a cell phone!

  • Do not leave negative feedback without receiving permission via submitting a Bad Trade Report. Be sure that the problem is intentional and/or cannot be resolved before submitting a Bad Trade Report. The incident must also meet the conditions in section 4.2 of the Deckbox Trading Rules.

Tips to Benefit Everyone!

  • Communicate! It takes two to trade, so be polite and clear about your wants, and be patient while waiting for responses. Part of trading is haggling, so be prepared to go back and forth a bit to find what makes both parties happy!

  • Use the appropriate trade type to complete the deal. If a local trade turns into a mail trade, cancel the original trade and open the correct trade to finish the transaction.

  • Use sleeves and toploaders to protect the cards you are shipping off through who-knows-what!  Usually, 2-3 cards will fit in a toploader + envelope; more than that will require additional toploaders and a bubble mailer. If the value of the trade is significant, Delivery Confirmation is advisable. Check out free DC through PayPal MultiOrder Shipping!

  • If you are using Paypal, DO NOT gift any payment. You forfeit any possible claims if the transaction goes bad. Please do not request others to gift or pay the fees, find out how much you want vs. what the fees will take out, then decide what to sell the card(s) for.
