Is there a way to turn off the email feature? It gets really spammy if you have alot of trades.

Not yet, but we will implement one, we've gotten a couple of other requests for it. Thanks for the feedback.

How would you want to be notified of trade happenings? Would a daily digest be ok?

Are you bothered by the emails you get from the trades you have or from forum post notifications? Because the latter you can disable from your forum profile.
