Topic: Some help with my Pox deck

Okay, so I thought that, in a way, the Pox strategy would go great with the right cards. Well, I want to give up Pox, yet stay within the mono-black legacy control deck type.

My decklist
3 Mishra's Factory
19 Swamp
4 Dark Ritual
1 Duress
4 Funeral Charm
1 Inquisition of Kozilek
2 Thoughtseize
4 Diabolic Edict
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Smallpox
4 Chimeric Idol
2 Hero's Downfall
3 Nether Spirit
2 Nightveil Specter
3 Pox

SIDEBOARD:
3 Dark Betrayal
3 Deathmark
4 Pithing Needle
3 Doom Blade
2 Lifebane Zombie

My goal is to take out all Pox cards, all Smallpox cards, and all Nether Spirits and replace them with something good. I want to keep in the mono-black way and keep the deck under 200 dollars.

So, can someone help me out with this?

Bump for the needed help

Re: Some help with my Pox deck

Have you considered 4 Phyrexian Obliterators and some number of Nykthos and Exsanguinate?

Re: Some help with my Pox deck

Well, I like the obliviator, but the Exsanguinate I don't know about. Nykthos isn't needed since this deck doesn't rely on devotion.

EDIT: Okay, Exsanguinate does seem like it would actually fit into the deck.

Re: Some help with my Pox deck

The argument for Nykthos is that it you can cast a huge Exsanguinate with the devotion. You also run potentially 4 Obliterators, 2 Nightveil Spectres and 2 Lifebane Zombies so the devotion might be easy to assemble. It also opens you up to additonal value from Liliana of the Veil should yo choose to get some. And finally, as a more expensive and reliable alternative to Nykthos you can go the Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth route.

OH okay. That's actually pretty cool.

Full disclosure: I don't play Legacy, but I read about it on the Source forum.

I don't understand how you plan to be a controlling mono black deck in Legacy without Pox.  Do you want to go all-in on hand destruction?  What is your win condition?

Well, it was originally a Pox deck, but I thought that the Pox mechanic wasn't a great win condition.
