Notes

26 Lands

4 Choked Estuary
6 Island
4 Submerged Boneyard
4 Sunken Hollow
8 Swamp

Self Explanitory. Play as many dual color lands, fill with basics. Don't want to play any lands that only produce colorless since double black and blue is so important from turn 2 onwards.

6 Creatures

4 Torrential Gearhulk
2 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet

Torrential Gearhulk as a wincon and massive value card. Play many instants so we can have as many targets as possible. Kalitas is just a good multipurpose value creature. Don't want to play too many, but enough so it will appear in relevant matches.

18 Instants

2 Anticipate
2 Essence Extraction
4 Glimmer of Genius
4 Grasp of Darkness
2 Murder
4 Scatter to the Winds

Pretty standard instant removal suite. A little light on Murders and Essence since we also play 3 Lilianas and 6 Sorcery speed removal cards that can also deal with creatures. Anticipate for early game draw and filtering, Glimmer as a main draw source. Scatter as our main counterspell since you can use it lategame as a finisher with its awaken. I feel like 4 counters are necessary but you could definately substitute at most two of these with Void Shatter or Horribly Awry.

6 Sorcery

4 Harsh Scrutiny
2 Ruinous Path

Saw a lot of lists with Harsh Scrutiny, seems good as a potential preemptive removal spell while also smoothing out your early game draws. Ruinous Path mostly for anti-planeswalker and its versitiliy. One of the main reasons I wanted to play black.

4 Planeswalker

1 Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
3 Liliana, the Last Hope

Liliana seems super good as a board controller and possible wincon. Good against aggro and control as well. Jace is mostly for hedging against slower matchups and since a 4th Liliana would probably not be good.

Sideboard:

1 Essence Extraction
3 Flaying Tendrils
1 Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
3 Lost Legacy
2 Negate
1 Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 Ruinous Path
1 Summary Dismissal
2 Transgress the Mind

Pretty standard sideboard, not 100% certain on it but it seems fine. Will probably try and get a playset of all the spells so I can fiddle with the numbers.
