Notes
After arriving into the MTG world just a month ago, This is the first real concept deck I've developed. It's made with many assumptions and lack of understanding. Not yet tested.
It's meant to be a quick one. Partly it's based on strengthening low cost creatures fast with passive countering and counter multiplication. This is not done just to build a solid crew on the battlefront that'll offer early defence and pressure, but to build counters that can be thrown on one creature (by Forgotten Ancient) for a drop of "Monstrous Onslaught" against opponent. The other half is mana ramping, combined with abilities to untap and make available massive mana for the direct drop of "Crater's Claws" against opponent.
I feel Fathom Mage help's produce double the value of placing counters (never mind the Corpsejack Menace!) with a continual pick up of what'll likely be more easily castable cards. Eidolon of Blossom's help me milk the enchantments with more pickups. With that said, both power up the Lorescale Coatl.
To help cast all these cards I'll be picking up, there are abilities and spells in this deck to untap land and mana producing creatures (Copperhorn Scout, Dramatic Reversal, Seeker of Skybreak). I also included Karametra's Favor to enchant more creatures with mana producing abilities (and, draw a card in the process!).
I'm not sure if an extra 5 is pushing the sportsmanship limits, but I don't feel it'll hinder the deck. One change I'm scratching my head around: I feel maybe I should make room for a couple "Satyr Hedonist" to sacrifice during the eventual drop of "Crater's Claws". Or, a "Voyaging Satyr" to untap land to reuse before or after this mega bomb. The Voyaging Satyr could work nice in combo with the other untapping abilities and spells as it'd untap lands, then could be untapped itself by two different sets of creatures and an instant.
First deck I've built. I'm learning and I know there's many things I'm not aware of. What would you change?
