Hey it's Aireon. Again, thanks for sharing your list with me after playing on Xmage. I had some questions regarding sideboard - would you consider Flaying Tendrils in place of Drown in Sorrow to get rid of pesky recursive creatures like Flamewake Phoenix, Gravecrawler, and Bloodghast on opponent's board? Also, what are your thoughts on Plaguecrafter from the upcoming Guilds of Ravnica - could he be a substitute for Gatekeeper of Malakir due to the ability to hit Planeswalkers or make opponents discard?
I have played Flaying Tendrils in place of it before. It depends on your meta-game at your local shop if your playing in paper. And i have seen the new GoR creature. I have not tried him but I have thought about it. It just depends on if you want more devotion and flexibility. GoM costs 2 for a 2/2 if you need just a blocker and edicts only your opponent. The new GoR creature is a 3/2 with the ability to edict or discard a card. However apealing the biger 3/2 vs 2/2 body is, you have to be able to sacrifice something of your own in return. So yes you get a 3/2 but you also need fodder if you want to keep it. Or if they kill it then you are discarding a card. We are playing black and discard spells and often have a low number of cards in our hand. If you are geared toward sacrifice then maybe this card would be better. However I feel that the flexibility and no downside of the GoM is better for my version of MBD.
