Plague Stinger is a brilliant card, totally overrated in my opinion.  Not many decks can deal with a flyer on turn 2, let alone one that's started putting poison counters on.  In this deck, I'd recommend giving your creatures some way of applying extra 'free' counters too - cards like Giant Growth are awesome in poison decks, once you know which of your attackers is getting through, you can apply the +3/+3 for an extra 3 free poison counters.  Which can be deadly when you only have to get them to 10 in the first place!

You may also be interested in a mechanic called 'proliferate' - you may have noticed me doing it the other day with that white/blue deck I was using.  Cards like Contagion Engine, Contagion Clasp, Throne of Geth amongst others, can proliferate.  What this means is that when you proliferate, you can add a counter to any number of players or permanents of the same type that the player or permanent already has on it.  You get to choose which permanents or players, and you can do it for any number of them (ie you're not just limited to picking one).

So for example, if your planeswalker has 4 loyalty counters, you can put it up to 5.  If your opponent has got 8 poison counters, you can give them another one.  And if their creatures have -1/-1 counters on them, you can give them another one.  This also works with +1/+1 counters you have on your own creatures, or charge counters you have on artifacts such as Lux Cannon or enchantments like Beastmaster Ascension.

It's a great thing to consider in anything which uses counters in some way (levellers, eg Kargan Dragonlord or Student of Warfare can benefit too).

Finally, if you're thinking about building multi-coloured decks, you'll want to look into things like fetch-lands and lands which can tap for two colours.  In this deck, your main option would be Verdant Catacombs, which you can chop in for either a swamp or forest, depending on which one you need at the time.

Each colour has two other colours that have a choice of lands which can tap for both colours.  For example, in black/red decks you have things like Dragonskull Summit and Blackcleave Cliffs which can tap for either, and don't necessarily come into play tapped depending on circumstances.  It's therefore easier to make certain colours work together than others.  Here's a quick list of which colour combinations have a selection of 2-colour lands, and are therefore easier to make them work together:

    Black & Red
    Black & Blue
    White & Blue
    White & Green
    Red & Black
    Red & Green
    Green & Red
    Green & White
    Blue & White
    Blue & Black

For any other combinations you're relying on the expensive (£10 a pop unless you drop lucky from a booster pack!) fetch-land cards like Marsh Flats, Arid Mesa, Scalding Tarn etc, or the fetch-any-colour cards Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds.  However, the problem with these is that the land card they fetch comes in tapped, meaning you can't use that land until the next turn.

However, you don't necessarily always need to rely on lands to get you other lands or generate mana.  Artifacts like Expedition Map can help in multi-coloured decks, and green in particular has a lot of creatures that can generate mana.  For multi-coloured decks that also feature green, you can do a lot worse than Birds of Paradise and Lotus Cobra.

    Some food for thought anyway!
