Notes

W/L:  9/1

Lots of combo's in this deck.  Glissa with lotus petals for much needed mana.  Evolving Wilds were added to feed the deathrite shaman as needed for extra mana.  Prey Upon's work great with obliterators especially, but also with agent of the fates (for the heroic factor) and even the large desecration demon.  Undying Evil for the agents and to keep some of the bigger guys in play. Burgeoning and Garruk work well for keeping my mana flush.  Vraska, demons and agents of the fates for removal.  Krosan Grip's for anything annoying me.

Mike, would you do me the honor of naming this deck?

OK, here we go! "Painful Quandry," "Traitor in the Ranks," "Rot in Hell," "Last Rites." You can also use my former GB deck name, "Glissa Explains it All" (a play off the Nickelodeon show "Clarissa Explains it All").

I think I'm going to go with "Last Rites".  Thanks again!

Also, the combo of Glissa and Lotus Petals is genius.

Thanks Mike!  I was pretty psyched with that too.  I can keep recycling them.  The lotus petals and deathrites help with the mana I need.  The mindcranks keep the deathrite fed.  taunting elf to divert blockers or if no elves out, then use obliterator with a deadly allure.  :)  Wall of Souls to just because they are awesome and crossbow ambush for flyers (and desec. demons).  Dark Rituals for turn two obliterators and desecration demons.  This could be a fun deck.  We'll have to see how it works in action.

I really do think you are a savant/genius with these Legacy/Modern decks. Are you researching to find these combinations, or do they just come to mind as you build?

No researching Mike, this is all me.  I'm no genius, but I really enjoy trying to find combinations that are out of the ordinary.  I've been doing a lot of trading too and that helps.  I see a lot of new cards and they keep giving me ideas.  I'm working on my last deathrite shaman now.  Hopefully will have him soon.

You are just as savvy as me Mike.  You do a lot more planning than I do, having something for everything.  It's something I try to implement now, though as you can see, I don't have any cards in this deck that remove enchantments or artifacts.  One day I'll learn.

You honor me, sir. I've been thinking off and on this afternoon about how I could counter decks like these using the RBW color palette I enjoy. Perhaps I'll have something next time we play!

I like that the instill energy's can be used to keep the deathrite shaman busy or to untap my desecration demon after he was just tapped for a sacrifice.  :)
