Notes

The deck I built at the M14 prerelease.

I wasn't sure how to approach this prerelease as I would have no guidance towards my colour picks, so I arranged my cards by instinct into BREAD categories and chose blue and black which seemed to be disproportionately represented in the more important categories. I think I lucked out with my card pool to be honest :P

Rod of Ruin and Ratchet Bomb both got some good use, and my Merfolk Spy had several opportunities to islandwalk. I had to mulligan down to 4 on one game and kept a hand of 4 lands O.o and I still won with it!

It prevailed in 6 out of 7 of my games on the day. And the only one I lost I think I could have won if I hadn't made a stupid error - my opponent's only creature was a 1/1 with intimidate so I couldn't block it. He gave it double strike, but I dismissed it as a threat because he was on a far shorter clock than me, but even though my Merfolk Spy was showing me cards in his hand and I actually saw his Enlarge, I just didn't realise that it would make is 1/1 double striker into an 8/8 for 16 unblockable damage in one, and I used a card that I could have saved to prevent that from happening. My mistake.
