Notes

Theros Prerelease event, midnight @ Little Shop of Magic, 9/21/2013.

New mechanic, unfamiliar tournament pace with only 30 mins to build a deck and the 50 minute time limit to complete a best 2 of 3 format left me with a 0-2 (Wesley), 1-2 (Kengo), 1-1 (Leo), 0-2 (Devon, attending first of 3 events). Started at midnight, setup and deck building to 12:45, playing until 5:00. Good learnings. Met Rocky, Alex, Paul at initial deck building segment.

Learnings:
Play instants during opponent's last main phase before end of his turn so recover mana immediately since your upkeep is next.
Learn mechanics, esp Monstrosity and Heroic.
W/R is the favored combo.
Great cards for my initial pulls, but did not play them well.
Don't miss using Activated or Triggered ability.

$30 fee. White deck. Box with 5 Theros booster packs with one pack built for the chosen color, spin down life dice, promo and activity card. After completing 4 matches, got another 2 booster packs. Tourny winners probably got more loot.
