Notes

June 22 Well, the Rage Extractors are still a major part of the deck, adding quite a bit of power for direct damage or removal but the focus of this deck has changed quite a bit.  The primary mechanic and mission of this deck is now to sac a Tanadon or Dragon to Birthing Pod and pull out Elesh.  In testing the deck, this combo seems to come up on turn 5 about 20% of the time.  And if the cards are right, I can then Birthing Pod into Sheoldred on turn 6.

May Original Concept [This deck is obviously built around the Rage Extractors. I was hoping to put in a lot more cards from differrent colors but it just didn't work out that way. But it also means I should be spending less life to cast the bulk of my spells. ]

Comments welcome.

Well, this deck has come a long way since I first built it.  Much help from a friend.  Birthing Pods, Elesh, and Sheoldred were definitely not in the first edition.  Slash Panthers, Metamorphs, and Pristine Talismans along with some other cards came out... Birthing into an Elesh turn 5 comes up quite frequently.

Thanks for the replies. Pulled a couple cards out, put a couple cards in. Unfortunately lost the Metamorphs but will put them back as I get them.

Generally speaking, I find a deck with too many 2-ofs to be pretty inconsistent. Your strongest cards in this theme are probably Metamorph, and Dismember. Because you're primarily relying on a 5-mana artifact and then casting stuff to win, I'd recommend shifting toward control and away from aggro. Tezzeret's Gambit, Gitaxian Probe, etc. (you've already got Norn's Annex).

I'd probably lose the Blessings, Shards, and Mirrorworks to start.

Well, played this deck at MNCasual.  It dominated a couple other casual decks but when played against decks made by a really good play, it didn't hold up so well.  He suggested that I sub in some Sylvok Life Staffs and maybe some card draw.  So I will pull the Vault Skirges to add in a couple Sylvoks but I have to figure out how to get some cards in here for card draw.

Uh, Tezzeret's Gambit? #theme Shame that there isn't more proliferating so it just seems like a random Sign in Blood (albeit one that can nug your opponent for 4 under the right circumstances...)
