Notes

This is the first standard deck I've made in years, and I'm a bit rusty. Tested well so far in some limited trials. I've also created this using mostly cards I've pulled from packs, and spent very little money on singles.

The deck can drop small, nasty creatures with deathtouch and lifelink, and combined with some creature removal, should be able to hold off opponents a few turns until the deck really starts getting going. Cards like the Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Abhorrent Overlord take advantage of the frequent double black cost of the permanents, and Sanguine Bond can double the damage that a Merchant does, sometimes to win the game outright.

The Dark Favors and Baleful Eidolons play well early and late game, respectively, on heroic creatures such as Agent of the Fates, or Tormented Hero.

Input and alternate card suggestions are welcome!

Ok cool I like the cape looks cool

Child of Night is, in my opinion, a pretty mediocre card. At the same CMC you could get Basilica Screecher (I do love extort) or maybe Thrill-Kill Assassin, among other choices.

I totally understand what the Necropolis Regent is doing for you in this deck, but at a cost of 6 mana he just feels too pricey to not be ending the game right then and there. Desecration Demon and Nighthowler would both provide some devotion and work off each other quite nicely, I think.

Yeah, good call. I love that both of those are 1/2 instead of 2/1. Child of Night seems like a great card, but it gets held off all too often by 1/1 creatures.
