Ideally, you can get lumberknots out early and swing away with the other creatures while they grow.  In testing, I found that the runechanter's pike can be a very fast and severe beating with travel preparations and prey upon.  It was a fairly favorable draw, but still a plan B to keep an eye on.  Travel preparations also has the benefit of helping against illusion matchups by being able to target 2 creatures.

For the sideboard there's divine reckoning, which can really boost your lumberknot if you run into any swarmy decks.  There are other equipment options for added evasion or protection from wrath effects if they are needed.  Beast within provides some extra removal.  The extra townships were just tossed in in case you already feel the matchup is pretty favorable and want more reliable access to lots of +1/+1 counters.
