My dad showed my brother and me a rulebook and a few cards in 1993.  We got our own cards and played Magic as a kid in 1994 when it was still played for ante, but nobody played for ante.  Most of my cards were pilfered by the local kids so all I had were a handful from my original collection, a Sol Ring, a Maze of Ith and a few others, later I moved to New Mexico and got into MTG again during the Urza cycles and weatherlight. I have all my cards from those days except for some light trading. Now I found DotP 2012 and the kids wanted to play so I taught them with my old cards.

I made a deck worth about $50 for my daughter to use in her schools Magic club and it disappeared two days later. I haven't been able to recover it so now I have a wishlist :/
