I don't like buying cards directly because it sucks the fun out of Magic for me... so I trade specifically in order to improve the quality of my decks.  As you can see, I trade small.  I think I am generally pretty laid back ... and try to let that carry over into my interactions here. 

When shipping out, I mail in a regular stamped envelope with sleeves and toploaders unless the value of the trade is north of $20.  Above $20, I will use a padded envelope / tracking ...
