Well, I now have all the cards I was looking for except Force of Will, and I've made a nice proxy for that one. So at this point I am most likely done trading. I'm willing to listen to offers, but my wishlist really does list the only card I know I'm interested in. I'd like to start making my cards available for purchase, but so far haven't been willing to spend the time on it. I'm leaving the rest of my profile information intact below.
--------------------
I don't expect to be very active on here, so if you don't hear back from me it may just be that I haven't logged in for a while.
Keep in mind that my wishlist IS complete with every card that I know of that I currently want. Yeah, I realize it's very small and doesn't leave much room for trading at this point... that's because I was able to get most of what I wanted. I may eventually add cycles from several sets with the intention of getting a bit of the flavor of each in my cube as sort of an optional add-in, but part of the selection criteria is likely to be price and there's a good chance I'll just add them to a larger order from a game store so that I won't have to pay shipping costs.
I assume I'll be sending first for a while and have no problem with that, but if your feedback is as low as mine simultaneous send makes sense.
In general, I'm perfectly willing to lose a few dollars in the book value of a trade, since I'm trying to collect a pretty limited set of cards and cards don't do me any good sitting on the shelf. But I will check to see if I'd be better off just selling the cards for store credit.
None of my cards offered for trade have been played, except for the "rare" foils in the Origins Intro Packs. I've played with some of those, but note that they were double sleeved first and have never been riffle shuffled (I use a program to fully randomize via pile shuffling). I don't usually sleeve right out of the pack, but my handling prior to sleeving is very minimal. (Typically one pass without sleeves to inventory the cards I got in each pack.) I put all of my cards in Ultra-Pro Pro-Fit Side-Load sleeves, and they stay there regardless of where I move them to... binder pages for rare/mythic extras, and rigid toploaders for foils (in hopes of at least mitigating the problem with them curling up). I'm meticulous enough that I have no trouble spotting minor flaws in cards that are straight out of the pack, but I won't rate anything as "Mint" even if I can't find the flaws. I haven't made any attempt to check all the cards I have and have just listed them as "Near-Mint", but I will go ahead and inspect any cards involved in a trade before sending them out. I've marked one pack of cards as "Heavily Played", because that entire pack came with obvious damage to one corner of the cards. The Curse of Echoes foil is the only one of those cards on my Tradelist. Most of the card is flawless, but that one exception is easily visible from the back unless you use opaque sleeves.
If a trade is worth doing, it's worth doing right... I ship in bubble mailers with tracking for any trade. Because of that my minimum trade is around $10 or so, since that's about where I consider it worth the cost of shipping to save the money I'd spend buying the cards.
I'm collecting Origins, Eternal Masters, and the two Conspiracy sets and I bought a single pack of many other sets. For those four main sets, I am attempting to get five of each common, two of each uncommon, and one of each rare and mythic rare. (Enough for 40 or 50 simulated boosters, depending on the size of the set.)
I hate foils PASSIONATELY and will not accept them in trade. I'll be trading/selling every foil I open. If you're interested in my foils, storing them in the rigid toploaders does seem to have helped reduce the amount of curling significantly... if that's important to you, I can check to see how a specific card is doing before making a trade (but you'll need to give me guidelines on what is acceptable to you).
