Any thoughts on my deck?

It seems like I need some more defensive cards. Usually if I get a swamp, dark ritual and phyrexian negator in the first turn then things are good. Otherwise I get killed before I can get going.

To be honest I think you need to start off running with this deck to work. If it was me, i would use cards that are like Mindslicer, or cards that have leave play effects like that. Priest of Gix gives you a free 3 black mana when it comes into play so its practicly free. I would also use more cards that bring the creatures back like Exhume, yes it gives everyone a creature, you just need to make sure yours is a better choice (for example Laquatus's Champion). I hope this gives you some ideas or helps at the least.

Thanks mattmcc. I will look into those. There was some other card similar to Laquatus's Champion in Gatecrash that I saw recently. I can't remember the name, though.
